Money money money.
Or he's unhappy in the way he's been treated, he's never asked for a move, he scored goals for fun last season and now he's being seen as a cash cow to sell to the highest bidder...he gets the hump with the club bigwigs...
...kinda similar to Alonso, yet he is revered for his stance?

how is Eto's behaviour anything like Alonsos? When has Alonso ever done anything where the only intention of pissing off the club?
I'd say Eto's behaviour is more similar to McManamans.Last edited by rudedog; 30-06-09, 10:48 AM.

I'm not actually that fond of either Alonso nor Rafa at the moment due to their handling of the situation. Think Eto'o should not think about getting one over his club though, Barca gave him a platform to be where he is and he would be screwing their fans over as well as the management.Originally posted by Scratch View PostOr he's unhappy in the way he's been treated, he's never asked for a move, he scored goals for fun last season and now he's being seen as a cash cow to sell to the highest bidder...he gets the hump with the club bigwigs...

But E'too has never expressed a desire to leave the club, and is rightly narked that he is being offloaded.Originally posted by The_weatherman View PostI'm not actually that fond of either Alonso nor Rafa at the moment due to their handling of the situation. Is Alonso's situation not the same, where he never asked to leave, got bandied about, stayed but now feels hard done by the club. I don't think either player wants to upset the fans, but neither do they want to be shafted by a club that they have given their all for.

E'too is nothing like McManananaman. He has never expressed a desire to leave, and is being forced out of the club. How is that like McManaman??Originally posted by rudedog View Posthow is Eto's behaviour anything like Alonsos? When has Alonso ever done anything where the only intention of pissing off the club?

I think players should accept that from time to time they will be sold against their wishes, maybe they are not performing up to certain standard (like Xabi) or they don't fit in the club's plans or squad.Originally posted by Scratch View PostBut E'too has never expressed a desire to leave the club, and is rightly narked that he is being offloaded.

They will leave clubs to further their own ambiotions without hesitating and often against their clubs wishes - why shouldn't it be a two way street. And their high salary more than compensates any job insecurites IMO.* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Kinda like Alonso yeah? Could be sold against his wishes?Originally posted by The_weatherman View PostI think players should accept that from time to time they will be sold against their wishes, maybe they are not performing up to certain standard (like Xabi) or they don't fit in the club's plans or squad.

We tried to sell McManaman to Barca but if fell through. After that, McMananam decided to run down his contract like what Eto'o is saying he will do.Originally posted by Scratch View PostE'too is nothing like McManananaman. Yeah, but Eto'o is behaving like a spoiled brat IMO, Xabi is not, although he is being irritatingly vague about his future, but I don't blmae him for keeping his options open for his interest - I would do the same.Originally posted by Scratch View PostKinda like Alonso yeah?
