Morgan's a trier, not sure if he'll cut it for us though.

I thought the second half we tried to make things happen far more. I don't mind sacrificing a bit of possession if it means we are going to try to win the game. Possibly Rodgers encouraged them to be more direct. Especially Suso and Sterling. We need to find a healthy balance but obviously its only the first game so that will take time.

I think there was a discussion on here last year about if being 'just a goalscorer' was enough if you offered little outside the box, I think he needs to develop other aspects of his game, which I think he is working on.Originally posted by NigelLG View PostI think he could make it if he can replicate his goalscoring rate in the first team. He certainly has good movement and positioning and will feed on any scraps. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

First half we created very little, not sure if the change in the second half was due to a change in tactics or the change in players.

Suso is ready. His passing and vision are absolutely superb.
We must extend his contract right away and then decide to either include him with the first team squad or send him on a loan.
We would be unbelievably stupid to let him run down his existing contract..Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

Suso is promising. He's also been playing competitive football for the Spanish side and is what I'd call match fit.
The majority of players in our team were getting their first bit of action in quite a while.
I'm not being negative, but expectation is a bit unrealistic to think he should be competing for a spot in the first XI - which is what Cole & Adam should be aiming for.
And whilst all players should be giving their all to impress a new boss, young players tend to give more in Orr season than seniors.Forwards.......

I don't think anyone believes he's going to be a first team regular this coming season.
He might get a spot on the bench for a few games and we might see him for the last 5-10 mins in games against weaker opposition if we have a good season. I do hope we see him in the carling cup( it's not called that anymore is it?) .

I think he's ready to play a decent part this season - ten or twenty games - but the key now is to get that contract sorted as soon as possible.

I think Morgan will end up a bit like Neil Mellor.
Suso is great, not sure he's quite ready for fest team action but is isn't miles off, Sterling, although excellent looks a little bit predictable, hit and run seems to be his game, and Theo Walcott shows that can only get you so far.
Sterling might need to tailor his dribbling a little bit but those two are definitely two exciting youngsters. The times they are a changin'.
