Had a decent half. Didnt do himself any harm there.

He didn't do that well at Lille really, 4 goals and 3 assists in 27 league games... in the French league... is not exactly setting the world alight for a player who at 29 is not going to get any better.

I wouldn't write him off completely after 45 mins of a pre-season friendly, but I'd also sell him for a mars bar given the chance. He is on 90k/week.

I know his stats weren't great but by all accounts his performances were far better than his numbers indicated.

For us it looks like he's never played the sport before.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

He's not ready yet of course but he will be at some point. He definitely has the talent.

I'm just not sure who has been making all those accounts Probably the LFC press office in the hope some gullible club will take his wages off our hands. Where's Graeme Souness when you need him?

I've spoken to two different people who live in France about him last year and their comments amounted to "meh". He had a good debut, and scored a hat trick in a cup game against not much more than a pub team, other than that he was just ok. Decent, but definitely no more than that.

Joe Cole has always been meh throughout his career. He had a bit of a purple patch at Chelsea where he was scoring a few goals but apart from Harry which saw him as a 'world beater', he was never that special. Roy Hodgson signing.

Any offer for Cole over the £3M mark should be looked at and probably taken especially when you take his wages into consideration that will give us a chunk of cash to look at bringing in someone younger and adds value to the squad - I mean you hear of players like Affalay or Tellio being available from Barca from around the £7M mark.

Over £3m ? Are you havi a laugh? Who'd pay that & match his wage demands? We'd be lucky to get rid of him for naught!
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

I think we can get a few million for him, teams like QPR could be interested in taking him on

The mobility from Cole and Charlie Adam is shocking, especially when you consider they're playing for one of Europe's top clubs. I just can't reconcile the Adam signing, Joe Cole was a trophy signing Newcastle style, but Adam is a Championship player.

Two wheezing, useless players we should never have looked at.

Adam is a good passer of the ball and not a bad player per se but yeah, fitness has always been his major issue and has been mentioned here even before he signed.

Exactly that. To play for Liverpool, there shouldn't be any amateurish questions like fitness, that should be the minimum requirement. His passing is ok, never ever have I thought that Adam was good enough for Liverpool though. If he'd worked out, it would have been a bonus surprise.

Anyway, how good does it feel to see potential coming through? Its been a long time. Sure Suso and Sterling are young, but its been so long since huge talent came through, I think we're allowed to be a bit excited by them both.

Suso's link-up with Sterling was very good. On many occasions he would look up and spot Sterling on the wing. Great to see them unafraid to combine in the first-team when some younger players might be afraid of trying to do a lot themselves.

I remember Owen and Gerrard looking for each other. That looping ball round behind the defence for Owen to run onto....

                              Gerrard made strikers

Sterling and Suso are small with a low centre of gravity, nimble which helps a lot with short, quick passing. We need more of them in our team. The second half was interesting and I'm not really sure we had less possession as some people have said. We were certainly more direct (in looking for the forward penetrating pass) and Sterling and Morgan's movements (Morgan worked his arse off and was moving all the time) were key to that.
