        Day moths. With a d.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

When it's time to have a fatherly talk to my kids about the dangers of taking drugs! I'll simply bring them here & let them read some of the **** in here. At least it will serve some purpose then.

I don't know why my post was included as an example of mind-addled nonsense. I was simply imparting accurate information. Moths are nocturnal and predated upon by bats with the result that some species of moths evolved a diurnal lifestyle and subsequently developed bright colouring.

I heard that on QI so it's incredibly simplistic of course. But it captures something of the essences of the two sub-orders (according to most taxonomists) of Lepidoptera.

edit: the mention of the word encyclopedia, is purely coincidental, and is in no way related to the above post from Kenneth. .

So you're suggesting that Kennel has encyclopaedic tendencies. Hmm, you could be right. He seems to know a lot about it; in fact, one might say his knowledge on the subject is...etc.
