Would be gutted to lose Pepe but would totally understand him wanting to go back to Barca. He clearly has some unfinished business there.

Barcelona target Liverpool's José Reina to replace Víctor Valdés
• Spaniards make Reina priority if Valdés leaves this summer
• Goalkeeper started at Barça but is under contract until 2016
Barcelona have identified the Liverpool goalkeeper José Reina as first choice to replace Víctor Valdés this summer should their long-serving No1 leave the Camp Nou.
Reina, who is under contract at Liverpool until 2016 but began his career with Barcelona, has been repeatedly linked with a return to his former club this season and monitored several times by scouts from the Spanish club.
Reports in Spain over the weekend claimed that Reina has agreed in principle to the move and a fee has been discussed with Liverpool. That is premature, with the Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers keen to retain the 30-year-old who has adapted well to his playing style after a difficult start. Reina too has recently stated that he expects to be at Anfield next season.
Barcelona's interest is genuine, however, and they are expected to make a formal move for their former keeper should Valdés secure a move from the Spanish champions elect. Valdés has announced he will not extend his contract when it expires in 2014 and may leave this summer, creating a vacancy that Barcelona hope Reina will agree to fill.

He used to be the best keeper in the league but he's not now. It's always a worry replacing a keeper but it hardly every turns out as badly as is feared. We didn't even suffer much results wise when Jones was playing this year. Don't be such a bunch of change fearing pussies

He has 16 clean sheets this season, only 'the best goalkeeper in the world evar!!!1111!1!!!!' Joe Hart, has more.Originally posted by cream View PostI wouldn't say very good, he's been ok though.
Yes, he suffered a dip in form this season, but he's still an excellent keeper.
Anything less than a deal totalling £20m will see us being ripped off IMO.

No problem with him wanting to go back to Barca. I can't see Rodgers being a willing seller. Carra going, he has always spoken highly of Reina. Huge test for the scouting team though to replace Carra and Reina in the same summer.
If it's with Williams and Vorm then that would be hugely disappointing.

Yeah I doubt we'd get £20m. £15m perhaps.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostPrepare to feel ripped off then. No way will we get £20m for a 30 year old who wants to join the supposedly interested club.
What I can't understand - if it's true - is why he'd only sign for two years.
I know Pepe's had a couple of ropey seasons, but our defence is looking a lot more assured recently and with losing three CB's in the summer there's going to be a massive upheaval.
I'd rather he stayed for another season whilst we sort out the back four and then let him go next year.
