If we get an offer of 8-10 mill for pepe i'd consider selling.

he's served his time with us and been outstanding for a large majority of it but the last 18 months have not been good for him. standards have dropped and with valdes free (not as good IMO as pep but on a free its really good deal - also, valdes will NOT go to bayern. they have the best keeper in world football right now so why replace?)

If we decide to sell him we should get much more than that. I wouldn't accept anything less than 15m.

Don't understand all the fuss with Butland to be honest...by all accounts he's a good shot stopper but his kicking and distribution in general is awful.

They say he has huge potential. Maybe he is being compared a bit too much to how Joe Hart came to the fore. Think it may be worth a punt at the price now being quoted

If Pepe leaves, it would be interesting to see who BR goes for as his replacement. However well Jones has done when covering, there is noticeable difference when he plays because his kicking and distribution is much worse than Reina's. We’ll need someone who’s a proper sweeper keeper with good speed and distribution. I’ve not seen enough of Butland or others – like Ochoa and Stegen – to know if they possess these skills. Any insight?

Butland's distribution is not anything like at that level yet. But he's really young, perhaps he can work on it. Not what we'd want as a first choice straight away though, at least where those attributes are concerned. No idea about the foreign-based keepers.

The obvious replacement as a 'sweeper keeper' in this league would be Vorm.

You'd think Vorm would be the natural choice, given Rodgers has worked with him before.
