His form for years previous to the past 2 years has to be taken into consideration, it can't just be written off. He has loads of credit in the bank. Until the drop in form you could count the mistakes he'd made on one hand, and he played at a very high level for years.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

But in the last 2 years I don't have enough digits to count his mistakes, and a good proportion of those have led to goals.

I don't want him to go. He's special and one of us. But I honestly can't see anyone paying that much for him.
      Oh I don't know.

I can. £15m minimum. He has pedigree.

His stock has fallen in recent seasons, there's no doubt about that. It will have had a detrimental impact on his valuation. Again no doubt.

Still he's a player of huge potential, and I think other teams will think he just needs a fresh challenge. If he does indicate he wants to leave I can see a bit of a bidding war, and us ending up with about £15m for him.

Really hope it's all bollocks, but I could see him wanting to leave for family reasons and a fresh challenge.

That's 16.6% less than the £18m you'd be dismayed at. And 25% less than the the £20m that would soften the blow.
            Oh I don't know.

Ironically he didn’t get that much credit for us when he was at his very best, he was still considered very dodgy by most, he started getting more plaudits after the decline started. Probably coincides with the team decline as a whole, as he started getting linked to other clubs who then had more chance of tempting him, which in turn made other people think he must be good if ******* are interested in him.

Not really relevant, but just reminded me of how annoyed I used to get defending the best keeper in the league to certain idiots.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

                So do I. Chum.
                .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

I reckon we should be happy getting anything between 10-12m for him. Turning 32 this year, and been on a declining form for a 2-3 years now so I don't see anyone paying more for a goalie his age. In fact Lloris that was (is) a highly praised French international keeper at the age of 26 didn't get sold for more than 10m, so I'd be surprised if we got more for Reina all things considered. Only very young talented keepers seem to go for more tbh.

When he was at his brilliant best I had a mate (a Sheff Weds fan) who claimed he could name 8 better Premier League goalkeepers than him.

Turning 31 this year, meaning he still has up to 10 years left in him, hitting the "prime" age for goalkeepers and I don't think Lloris had that long left on his contract hence the lower price.

Annoyingly, I'd said for the last 2-3 years that if we lost Reina - Lloris was my ideal choice to replace him. Such a great keeper.

He currently works for Sheffield Council, that that explains a lot.

Amusingly, Arsenal have been linked with him for about 6 and they are still stuck with Szczeny (that’s the first I’ve ever written his name, I’d never have guessed it without Google. )

Yup, he was available for a VERY good price in the summer and Wenger, the massive ****, decides he's better off with Chesney, Mannone and whatever other cunt they have.

Okay 31, but point still stands, few will pay that much for a gk his age upwards. I now his prime is supposedly the next ~3 years, but I don't really think that makes it anymore realistic getting more for him tbh., and especially not if he wants a new challenge.

And in theory he has 10 years left, but most likely not at the highest level, it's still the minority of GK's that can stay at the top clubs for that long in modern time, Oliver Kahn being one of the examples I can think of and Seaman, but he was hardly a great keeper in the end.
