Yeah, I don't really care tbh. Very good player for us over the years but he wanted to leave (for Barca) so he was replaced. In the end he is going to a good club with a familiar manager to play CL football and I don't believe for one minute that he was completely in the dark about the possibility of joining them. If pepe hasn't expressed a desire to leave then I'm sure he would be our #1 next season, his ninth. And I don't want loyalty from Suarez either, I want him to leave. And is it really a problem?

There is no loyalty in football, unless someone needs something from someone else. Then the loyalty card is trotted out.

On one hand, the club expects Suarez to remain loyal and honour his contract, on the other hand, they reward 8 years excellent service from a major player like this. Once a player is deemed to be surplus to requirements, they are discarded. Be it youth players, those players who made it through the ranks but not quite made top quality, the journeymen, and even legends.

We want Suarez to stay and to honour his contract, but a lot of our fans are calling for Downing and Spearing to go, (me included, we're all hypocrites ) even though the club gave them long-term deals.

Totally agree. I think maybe we had his best years, either that or he needs a change to get back his best form because he's been declining for a couple of years. Him going to Barca would have been best for all.

Truth is, in football it's all PR. No one knows how it really went down. You can't say whether it's 100% correct what Reina said or 100% correct what Rodgers said. Everyone is going to make themselves look right and the better person.

Just take all this stuff with a huge pinch of salt. The right decision for the club was made. That is all

you can see this both ways, it doesnt make financial sense for the club, but also that BR needs to clear the decks so he can stamp his own authority on the club.

It’s a shame it has played out like this. I’m sure Pepe would have willingly joined Napoli if it was explained to him he was surplus to requirements after the Barca move fell through and we signed Mignolet.
