Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

As Shaggy, NY pointed out, totally understand why he wants to go back to Barcelona.

At the same time, the clubs actions are also perfectly rational. If for example there was a breakthrough in the Valdez Monaco deal in the third week of August and Barca submitted a 9 million bid for Pepe, we would have been truly screwed.

Great player. One of my favorite player and one of the best keepers in our history. He will have a special place in our hearts. I hope he wins a lot of medals with Napoli/Barca.

I also feel he should not have mentioned that LFC did not tell him about the Napoli deal in public. He could have mentioned it to Ayre, Brendan in private. I am fairly confident him and his agent were aware of Napoli's interest due to Rafa. Maybe the communication could have been better but given his stature, respect there was no need for a sly public attack. There has been a lot of negativity in the press about us in the last few years and there is no need to create a situation which will potentially add to it.

I think he mentioned the fact LFC did not tell him about Napoli because the relationship with the fans is so important to him. He did not want to look like he was forcing a move and it is understandable. The whole episode makes complete sense, shame it could not have been different though.

But I think he could have maintained the relationship with the fans without mentioning the "It is only natural that I would be disappointed that the Liverpool management agreed to loan me to Napoli without telling me first". Not sure what that accomplished. He has already told us that if Barca comes he was ready to leave. That is fine with us.

Maybe he was not happy with the way the club handled the communication. He could have voiced that in private and left. For a guy of his stature and reputation with LFC fans, there was no need to engage in something which can cause negative PR for the club.

I was told something a couple of weeks ago but did not pass any heed on it., it was that Reina tryed his level best to engineer a move to Barca, and BR was not impressed in the slightest by this and wend full steam ahead with our new keeper. Not too much wrong with that imo. However you could argue the same about Suarez, except he is way too important to the team, where as some might argue that Reina is not, not much wrong with that either imo. Meh move on.

You can't just ship a player off to another team for a season without their consent

I love Reina, but this whole open letter thing is a fairly stupid thing for him to do

Moaning that we didn't sit around and wait until he'd got his dream move to Barca before looking at a replacement?

I don't particularly think we needed to replace him, although he's blatantly not the keeper he used to be; but he can't be miffed that we did so when he openly admits that he thought he would be moving to Barcelona
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"

I dont think you can compare the two situations mate. If Suarez had given us exemplary service and loyalty for 8 years and if the club he was trying to engineer a move to was outside of England, I think all of us would have been far more understanding.

He wanted Barca and it didn't happen for him... tough luck.

No player is bigger than the club & we did what was in the best interest for LFC. Best of luck to him at Napoli.... hopefully has a great season & next year we may get a better price for him....if he eventually gets his move to Barca.

Just maybe Reina wanted us to know that everything isn't perfect behind the scene.

Remember the Gillett and Hicks saga. Remember the Purslow saga.

Of course every player in the squad will say to the media how excellent Rodgers/Ayre is. Who knows if it is the truth or not.

I would say that the Suarez transfer saga and now Reinas letter is very worrying. I would say that the many missed transfers is very worrying.

                            Remember what happened last summer.

I don't think Rodgers had the last word in the Reina loan. I think that was a decision the manager had nothing to say about.

Remember the HM failed transfer when Rodgers was in Donetsk but wasn't allowed to speak to the club or the player. How the **** could Ayre **** that one up so completely that it left Rodgers travelling to Donetsk without any guarantee that he would talk to the club and the player.

Ayre shouldn't have anything to do with the transfer negotiating bit. He should do what he is good doing. Negotiating sponsorship contracts. He should leave the transfer negotiating bit to someone that is very good doing it.

Arn that post is just supposition and guesswork. You don't know what is being said/done behind closed doors.

I have no problem with your opinions being aired it's just when you finish the post as judge and executioner based on your guesswork then it gets tedious, time after time.

When was Rodgers in Donetsk? HE just said we weren't allowed to talk to HM, nothing about travelling.
