I think Rio is ok when he has time on the ball, he's decent on the ground but when he is put under pressure he's a panicker and makes so many mistakes.

dont think he was rated here though......if you go down that route you may as well add him to the shevchenko's and Bogarde's of this worldOriginally posted by danperkins View PostAlberto Aquilani_____________________________________

It's my opinion. Internet says I can say what I want. If you don't like what I say, go eat a dickOriginally posted by Baracus View PostRio is not that overrated. He's got great positional sense ( drug joking aside) he makes most situations look very simple and carries the ball away in a confident manner; he was a bit docile in his early days, but he commands the ball and his area very well now. Players like Terry and even Carra look great when they come in with last minute tackles and stopping goal scoring opportunities because either they get caught out by pace or skill or because other players have put them in that situation. Rio tends to very rarely put a foot wrong nowadays unless its Torres who could quite easily single handedly rape, Rio, Vidic, Terry in one swift movement.

I meant in general ya know , lot of hype around him when he arrived when really in his career he hasn't really done much, lot of injuries, 11 games or so on the international scene and very few goals and assists.Originally posted by red g View Postdont think he was rated here though......if you go down that route you may as well add him to the shevchenko's and Bogarde's of this world
Shev was class came to Chelsea on the decline, Bogarde i don't think was ever rated that highly although he did play for some great clubs, suppose so did Zenden, i dunno.Last edited by danperkins; 14-09-10, 03:22 PM.

Do you think Rio is a better defender than Terry? I'd say he's a better footballer as such but IMO there a few players out there that are better defenders than John Terry, i hate the guy as a person he's horrible, but he is a world class defender only second IMO to Lucio as the back CB in the world.Originally posted by red g View Post

Terry is a flat track bully who imo like Carragher has always needed a more compused defender next to him to make up for his weaknesses.Originally posted by danperkins View PostDo you think Rio is a better defender than Terry? Rio on top of his game pisses all over Terry._____________________________________

But that kind of player is pretty useful, isn't it? Especially alongside a more composed defender, as you say. Did anyone ever think John Terry was ever anything other than the typical English centre half?Originally posted by Baracus View PostExactly my opinion too. He's not as good as he was four or five years ago but he was pretty effective then.
Of course he was then and still remains an egotistical f*ckwit..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.
