I didn't refer to the distance TO australia but rather the distance WITHIN australia...

Oh, in that case, the whole World cup would simply be run along the east coast. The longest distance by flight would be 2 or so hours. Most flights would be an hour or so and depending on which city some of the stadiums would be within an hour driving (i.e sydney and melbourne)
