That's pathetic - you make it sound like some exclusive boys club, where only a select few should be allowed in.

Football is a global game and if they have the means to host it, they deserve to have their chance.

Same went for USA, Korea/Japan, South Africa etc.

It's all relative. Is 40 a select elite boys club? Everyone is allowed in but to be hosts you need something a bit special which Qatar doesn't have. I dont think the USA should have hosted it either. I think Japan may have been in the top 40, same for S.Africa. theres an argument for once in a while going somewhere obscure, but it isn't fair that we have so many coming from outside Europe or S.America.

Where you have so many countries able to host it you need a reason to select and at this rate it will be 200 years before a real footballing nation hosts it again, for all the 'global game' bollocks that is not proportionate.

Exactly, it seems FIFA are always looking for excuses not to choose us and reasons to pick someone else. Yes Russia has never hosted a WC but they have plenty of other practical issues to content with - they had the worst FIFA technical report don't forget.

Sadly I don't think that was an issue. The fact two of the weakest techincal bids won shows this. But the fact it contains some of the world's richest men is more important when it comes to impressing FIFA execs nowadays...

As i said before, i have no qualms with weaker nations hosting it, but they shouldnt get a top seeding.

How do these nations ever get to become 'real footballing nations' if they never get the chance? Maybe hosting a world cup is precisely what can help the game go through a massive evolution in such countries. And if it helps to develop football even further afield, why are we against that?
