Same question marks were put over SA but they still made it a success.
South Africa is a huge footballing nation though. Apparently they have the most professional registered clubs in the world. There is something there to work with. Qatar on the other hand is a joke. Are you honestly saying that the other bids were worse than Qatar. Australia sort of deserved this.
The football was dire but the organisation of it was a success from what I've read.
Possibly.
My main gripe with weak footballing nations hosting world cups, is the automatic seeding they therefore get, which means that, in terms of quality, you got utterly lop-sided groups.
You'll have 1 group (with the hosts in it) comprising of 3 ****e teams and one mediocre one. And then another group with like, Brazil, Holland, Italy and Belgium in it
****ing joke for England and Aus. Qatar??? Russia??? Two of the worst climates in the world
The majority of the population is working males, whats the point of building the footballing culture of a nation with barely any young, its ridiculous.
The moon has a better structure and pitch than Russia though.
Russia is a far better choice. A world cup on the moon just wouldn't have the atmosphere.
I'm here all week. Try the sausage.
. Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

No they dont deserve a chance to try and show us what they can do, neither do Lichenstein (they have lots of money too). Basket case countries with no footballing heritage and outside the top 40 in the world should be barred from hosting. The USA was bad enough and they have it all infrastrcture wise, so much for the "global football family".
And as said the football and atmosphere were ****.

I forgot the hosts get one of the top seed spots don't they, Ok Russia aren't great but they're decent. Qatar as a top seed
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
