I'm so surprised at how disappointed I am by this. Really disappointed.

If it's true our bid didn't get past the first stage then that's a disgrace and needs investigating. How can they justify that? It looked an impeccable bid from the outside.

So? The average temperature in England in July is about 2 degrees.
        .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

I am more gutted by the manner of the loss. You just know those ****ers took backhanders to have Russia host it.

                What?

                It's about 17 degrees at a guess.

The stadiums might be air conditioned but the training pitches wont be. The fans are gonna love it in that heat.

Wonderful choice Russia - really looking forward to it. Great structure they have in place at the moment, probably some of the best stadiums in the world. Lovely weather too. Probably the only racism-free country in the bid too.

If it's all about spreading football and building a good future we may as well host the next in Iraq/Iran/Afghanistan.

It is disappointing but it's what it's like on the inside that counts.

You don't have to have a footballing past to host a world cup.

If they wanted to host it, for whatever reasons (it might be political whatever - as if Cameron wouldn't do this for the same reasons), it's their legitimate reason to do it.
                      Are we winning?

No alcohol in Qatar ...what a great World Cup. Players keeling over in the heat, fans totally sober. Great stuff.

That's bollox, why not let Lichenstein have it too, the fact its been in Germany and France recently is irrelevant?

Japan and Korea had it recently, the next 'fair turn' would have been the Aussies out of the list of bidders but to be honest its all a ****ing farce. Footballs roots are Europe and S.America and they should get twice as many turns as the rest of the world put together.

Whatever problems Brazil has, they will put on a great world cup, they have the fans, the passion and the stadiums, most of the stadia are in Rio or Sao Paulo and transport between those two is good, they'll also get sufficient security sorted out in time. If the South Africans can manage the logistics so can Brazil. As for ****ing Qatar
