Ha ha - only Capello can answer that!

It was reported in the media and more often than not, they have got it right since Capello has been in charge.

Great shout that, and i could see Kelly going on to mature and become a bit of a defensive leader for us, like Carra did.

He'll be a great player for us, can't see him at centre back though.

I think the fact Kelly has barely played any games counts against him. Certainly never had a consistent run. Also Walker has more of the style of attacking fullback that seems to be what people prefer at the minute.

I'm quite impressed by Kelly's attacking play. He's more about barrelling runs than fancy trickery of course but it's still good to see him galloping forward.
            .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

He's going to be at LFC for a very long time.

It seems to be effective though. He went close to scoring yesterday as well.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

On what basis do people keep saying he'll be a center back ?

I don't think I've ever seen him play there.

                        Capello considers Kelly call-up

England boss Fabio Capello has revealed he is considering giving Liverpool defender Martin Kelly a call-up into the senior squad.

Kelly has established himself as a key member of the Liverpool side over the last 18 months after earning an extended run in the side under Kenny Dalglish last term.

The versatile defender, who can play at centre-back as well as right-back, has won two caps for England Under 21s and he is now in contention for the senior side.

Capello watched Kelly in action during Liverpool's 2-0 win over Arsenal at the Emirates on Saturday and he is a big admirer of the 21-year-old stopper.

"I see some players interesting for me, some new players like Kelly the right-back, he is really interesting," Capello told Sky Sports' Goals On Sunday.

"He is young and he played a good, good game."

Great for him on a personal note if this does happen but from a selfish point of view I'd be happy for him to be overlooked!

Liverpool's Kelly Ruled Out for 5 Months
                              October 2nd 2011

Liverpool's Martin Kelly has been ruled out for up to 5 months following his injury in England's 2-0 loss to Outer Mongolia on Wednesday night in front of a packed Wembley.
Despite concerns from Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish, England kingpin Fabio Capello allowed Kelly to play the full 90mins, as well as the 30mins of extra time that were for some reason added onto the end of this friendly encounter despite England trailing by 2 goals at the end of 90mins. Some commentators concluded that the extra 30mins were played in order to prolong the suffering of the paying public.
Thankfully Man Utd's trio of Rooney, Ferdinand and Smalling were withdrawn after 27mins following a phone call to the England bench. Inside sources suggest they could hear drunken slurs coming from the receiver before the call was patched through. Chelsea's John Terry and Frank Lampard completed 45mins succesfully and where taken off at full time, despite England not having any other subs to put on for ET.
In his after-match interview, Capello, in response to the question of Kelly's debut appearance injury, told reporters, in broken pidgeon English, "it isn't my problem", but did confirm that he has agreed a new contract extension, and also the departure of No.2 Baldini to Roma. Roy Hodgson is the bookie's favourite to fill the comfy seat beside Capello in the England dugout.
