From that list Real and Barca could seriously struggle.

Could they not just have box that is a standard above the rest, bigger and better and charge whatever they like for it? If it is of better quality of normal boxes then it wouldn't have to fit into the price range.Originally posted by Assassin View PostMost boxes are similar, they would have to have the same pro rata price for all the other boxes.......Vive la France

I tend to agree, their wage structure is going to kill them.Originally posted by Lecter View PostI'm not sure it will to be honest
I think in general most clubs other than City will welcome this
As a side note. I was hoping NESV were going to really splash the cash on several players in this window, as this is the last opportunity for "free trading"

I think they'll find a way, this uefa fella implies they will too.Originally posted by Lecter View PostThis would fall foul of the regulations
As would any overpriced sponsorship deals or numerous sponsorship deals from sister / related companies to the owners

But this being Europe and all surely it wouldn't take that much of a lawyer to claim that this was causing unfair competition by limiting prices.......Originally posted by Assassin View PostMost boxes are similar, they would have to have the same pro rata price for all the other boxes.......

The only obvious and legitimate way to not have this causing you a problem, is obviously to increase your income - the rule says there's no limit on what clubs spend on their stadium or youth academy. So you can plough cash into the academy and hope to produce stars, thus saving you on spending for transfers, or selling the stars for money which you can spend.
Or, build a massive stadium, to increase your turnover so high, that you can spend tonnes on transfers and still play by the rules. But you'd need to be able to fill it, of course.

But I think they would look at its size and factor the square footage etc...Originally posted by Robbie-9-Fowler View PostCould they not just have box that is a standard above the rest, bigger and better and charge whatever they like for it? I dont think they are going to get away with charging say £50K for one box and £10 million for one twice the size with gold taps and kashmire rugsBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

Real & Barca have individual TV deals.
All income/sales/endorsemenst etc must be within reasonable limits. In another thread there was an explanation of how this will work. If there's a suspicious deal they would look at similar deals around Europe to decide if it was genuine of an attempt to get around the rules. E.g. shirt deal for man city that was much more than other clubs. A single box being sold at much more than others or if all boxes in the ground were bought by one company that was related (even indirectly) to the club and the rate was far above other similar clubs it would all fall foul of the rules.
They will be able to wangle a bit around the edges, but not by huge amounts."that is my opinion and that is more important than what anyone else has to say about it" - Mr A.Fergusson, Oct 2011

Yeah, in terms of the FFP rules. Whether that drags them down to mid table level (where the FFP rules are irrelevant anyway, as its only UEFA comps that you'd get barred from) or not may still be an issue for the fans."that is my opinion and that is more important than what anyone else has to say about it" - Mr A.Fergusson, Oct 2011

Does anyone know, would these new rules have any significant implications for the mooted signing of Luis Suarez?.
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.
