Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

That sort of thing has to be declared with the rules as they are anyway as gifts like that are taxable.

All income/sales/endorsemenst etc must be within reasonable limits. In another thread there was an explanation of how this will work. If there's a suspicious deal they would look at similar deals around Europe to decide if it was genuine of an attempt to get around the rules. E.g. shirt deal for man city that was much more than other clubs. A single box being sold at much more than others or if all boxes in the ground were bought by one company that was related (even indirectly) to the club and the rate was far above other similar clubs it would all fall foul of the rules.

They will be able to wangle a bit around the edges, but not by huge amounts.
Neither are in good financial state though. Barca needed a loan to pay their wages this season.

The cash flow problems do confuse me a little, but they have huge turnover. A quiet year in the transfer market should sort all that out, but it will probably be some preferencial bank loan or other 'public sector' donation to bail them out again.

There was a BBC 5 Live special on this topic last night. 8.30pm onwards. 'This is abit of a farce' The Bayern Munich Chief, basically said that UEFA are unlikely to use the most extreme sanctions' amongst other things. As things stand 11 clubs in the Premiership would not meet the requirements

I still thing football would be better off with the American Model.

Although looking back that looks like it might well have been more about internal politics than genuine accounting.

That's one of those terms like 'police intelligence' and 'compassionate conservative'.

Meh, the girls on that show are the least attractive of all the international top model shows, they all look rather old for their age too.

Fair enough, I knew nothing about it except the loan.

Indeed the winner of the last one looked like the old hag in True Blood. Shocking.
