This has been a disastrous appointment for them. Di Cannio is a self appointed fascist despite his counter claims.
At least he's now finally denied it, albeit with slightly unusual wording that doesn't entirely convince. I suppose he could condemn fascism but, while it would help remove some of the ambiguity that remains, I don't know if it's something that can be demanded as though it's the minimum acceptable.
What do you want, him to lead to a counter-demo against the EDL?
. Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
Clearly don't like each other but he does make some valid points in the article especially about the PR side of things and he does give him credit for what he's done at Swindon.
It's going to be interesting to see crowd reaction to him tbh
Also interesting to note the "not fascist" Di Canio has a Mussolini tattoo
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

No, but he's clearly trying to appease the fans who in the majority, don't agree with his appointment. If he believes in fascism, so be it, he should not try to deny it.
He's going to be judged on results, so I'm not sure where this is going to end if he's a success there. Will the fans forgive him? If so, then what kind of example does it give?
