The thing about Maxi - one of our better players last season - is that Dalglish had to justify the scandalous 20 million quid he paid for the shockingly bad Downing. So Downing was a shoo-in week in, week out, no matter how badly he played, whereas The far superior Maxi was lucky to get on the bench most weeks, even if he'd played well and scored in his last game. That was one of the worst aspects of Dalglish's blinkered attitude to quite a few playersOriginally posted by Mattshark View PostI thought our attacking play was, very little in terms of creative play bar get it wide and cross it in or have Suarez try and create something by himself. We barely get in behind a team or had players free in the box. I do agree about Maxi though.

We got a loan fee for Carroll as well didn't we? £1.5million or something like that?
Either way, Carroll has to accept this first. He could reject it and Newcastle could come in with a lower bid, Carroll thus able to force a move.

Surely Newcastle only need to match WHU's £15m bid, we've already accepted that as his value.

FSG has said they wanted to make 15m on the Torres deal so whatever Newcastle wanted Chelsea had to pay 15m more. So 15m for Carroll in the eyes of the owners means we made 30m

Be nice if Newcastle came along and gazumped them with £17m

This could be a marvellous window.

Very nice price for us that. Good stuff, was worried all summer we'd hear "Liverpool want.....but it's dependent on Andy Carroll being sold to fund it"

I'd take the £10M.Originally posted by Tee View PostI would gladly take £10m plus Diame.
Seriously.
No matter what we think or feel Carroll is "worth" (that being a relative term) I would take pretty much anything to get rid of him, get some money for Brendog to spend on a player we can actually use and get his horrendous wages off the bill too.
