Thanjk you.

Our crossing is woeful in truth, its all hopeful rather than done with any purpose. The majority of balls we put into the box are a bit too easy to defend against, making it seem defenders always play a blinder against us.
There was a time yesterday when the commentator was saying something like "And guess who is there again, Scott Parker" happened 3 times in a row. Wasn't good positioning by Parker, every ball was short and very poor.

Just what I was thinking, we gave him that MOTM award. I thought Dawson was MOTM.
He's unlucky in the fact that when he does nod down the ball in a great area in the box there's maybe 2 LFC players at most whilst 6 defenders boot the ball away from danger. I really feel we need to start practising some free kick moves in training, cos our set pieces are pretty diar right now. And can someone please teach the players how to cross a dangerous ball into the box, these grass cutting crosses are becoming a joke!
Your too good to be true, can't take the ball off you you got a heavenly touch, you pass like Sounness to rush. And when we're pissed in the bars we thank the Lord that your ours
since when has being good at flick ons been the way that Liverpool strikers are measured?
Saying that he looks like he is improving but a big gap between where he is and where we need him to be.
Agree.
We laugh about Sky going nuts about Torres being back because he's managed to shoot on target or put a cross in, and we're judging our lead striker on how well he flicks a header on to another player?
****ing hell our standards are sinking. Roy Hodgson really did manage to lower expectation. Seems to be his ****ing legacy.
But yeah, Carroll has got better. He couldn't have gotten any worse though.
Went to the game last night and have ti say Andy really put in a huge shift in, chased everything and think he won every flick on.
The crowd were clearly on his side although i sense its more through hope than anything else.
I just dont see us a fluid side with Andy in the team, although same could be said of a few others!1
We did vary the play last night, it wasn't just hoof it to Andy while he was on the pitch which was encouraging. His chest control has improved a lot, as has his desire.
I didn't think he was anything special, but there is a reason for that.
Our system requires a mobile forward to play on the edge of the defence, to explode or be mobile enough to carve chances for yourself.
And about his flick-ons. It's getting to a stage now where our fans are blaming the entire midfield for not running onto them. Our players do not play like that. It has to be get the ball down, hold it up, lay it off and make intelligent runs. Carroll is supposed to play to the TEAM way, not the team to the CARROLL way.
Complete opposites there fella - Pointless buying a big fella who isn't that mobile but can head it and then not change the way you play. Might as well have bought a midget who can carve a change out for himself.
Even the summer signings bear fruit that Kenny wanted a different style as he brought in a winger called Downing and Henderson to supply the crosses.
Regardless of men in the box United still get in the areas that matter
We dont even get into those areas often enough
United have a lot more pace hence their ability to recover is better than most teams, but your quite right, we don't get enough in the box to make it matter

I disagree about Henderson and Downing. They can play in pass and move systems. Henderson in particular can play an intelligent role long into the future.
Llorente was the benchmark, their main idea of what they wanted. He's what we need and I'm hoping that over the course of the rest of the season, we'll see a giant leap in terms of progress from Carroll to suggest he is on course toward becoming a top player.

Speaking of which, Bilbao are on tonight.
He's different to Carroll though, Agreed both Downing and henderson can pass and move, it still seems pointless to buy a big fella, if your focus is on pass and move and mobility

But the objective is still the same. Receive the ball, pass to teammate, make intelligent runs, offer an aerial threat, hold the ball higher up the pitch. Also, his physicality means defenders focus on him, allowing our midfielders more of a free reign in the final third of the pitch.

Which is what he's been doing, of late, the problem being the ball into the box isn't of any quality and the midfielders aren't getting beyond him or remotely near him
