He's got the same cocksure swagger that Gerrard had, demanding the ball off older, more experienced players and unwavering belief in his own ability. It's great to see, we have too many passengers who can't/won't take responsibility. He deserves a run in the side now.

Agree with this.Originally posted by peekay View PostI love the way he constantly demands the ball and tries to make things happen. Once he gets the ball he has only one thought - move it forward and attack. It is refreshing to see a 20 year old with such confidence.
Lot of rough edges in his game but he has the talent to be polished.
He is going to be a very good premiership midfielder for sure. Whether he will develop into a world class one will depend on his mentality.Brandt - Keita - Van Dijk - Sessegnon

many players can be a little over awed when playing with gerrard and end up looking like a rabbit caught in the headlights. shelvey looks like hes getting the confidence to be his own man, and seeing him giving andy carroll a mouthful the other week shows he isnt afraid to boss other players who are not making a contribution. a bright prospect.removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Yep very much so. As has been noted by a few, his stamina, pace and athleticism seems greatly improved.Originally posted by Cormack74 View PostDidn't see last night's game.
I've always rated JJS but wondered whether he has enough in the tank for a full 90 minutes.
Was he still putting in the yards at the end of the match? Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

This for me is the main reason why he'll make it, and by make it I mean be a regular squad player starting a minimum of 15 games a season.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostHe's got the same cocksure swagger that Gerrard had, demanding the ball off older, more experienced players and unwavering belief in his own ability. In footballing terms he doesn't give a ****, always wants the ball, more than happy to take on the responsibility to shoot himself instead of passing to someone more established.
It's the players with the '**** you' attitude that selfish streak that come through an make an impact and establish themselvesThe King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

He still might, I didn't see Pacheco do it in a first team game though (tbf he didn't get much chance)Originally posted by RedReet View PostI said teh exact same thing about Pacheco.
Every time I've seen Shelvey play he gives the impression that he thinks he is the best player on the pitch and that everyone has come to see him which I think is brilliant.
Add experience to the attitude, let him settle into a position and he'll be very good. The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.
