I'm well looking forward to next season after the last two seasons. From the highest and best we've been since Kenny left to complete and utter ****e. Going from Number 1 ranked team in Europe to getting hammered by Fiorintina and then slipping even further by dropping into the bottom three was horrible to witness.

I know many turn their noses up at the Europa League, but if we could get a place in it by snatching 5th at the expense of Spurs, well that would be quite some turn around.
    Forwards.......

I wasn't wrong. I have always appreciated Kuyt.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

I prefer the way we play with Kuyt and Suarez up top rather than Carroll. The football the team produces is so much better.

                @ Dave m
Kenny Dalglish should be charged with arson, he's only gone and set Dirk Kuyt on fire.

Aye, indeed it is. Wouldve mention Dirk's initial form dip as coinciding wit the death of his father, but it's very interesting & spot on otherwise.
                        3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Cheers lads. Good point about the death of his father, should've added that.

There's a piece on Leighton Baines in today's Heil...in it he is asked for his "three greatest opponents".

Number 1 is Ronaldo, 2 is Robben.

                            3. Dirk Kuyt: "An absolute pest. His work-rate is like nothing I've ever seen before. He is so strong and never gives you a moment's peace."

Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

                              haha,

                              but on Liam GAllagher....
I ended up going backstage to have a chat with Miles. As I was waiting, Liam Gallagher appeared through this door.

‘I just froze. He is quite intimidating up close. I caught his eye and he said, “All right?” to me. I said it back but then scarpered. He must have wondered, “What’s this little squirt doing here!” I got out of his way as quick as I could.’

Kuyt: I'm in my best form since I signed for Liverpool

Liverpool forward Dirk Kuyt believes he is in his best form since moving to England almost five years ago.

The Holland international struck his eighth goal in the last seven matches in yesterday's 3-0 win over Newcastle, becoming the only the seventh Reds players to score in four successive Premier League games.

Two of those may have been from the penalty spot but a look at his wider record - he has 12 goals in his last 13 games in all competitions, including two internationals - backs up the player's belief that he has rediscovered the form which persuaded then manager Rafael Benitez to pay Feyenoord £10million back in the summer of 2006.

"The last time I had a run like this must have been in Holland, where I scored quite a few," said the hard-working Dutchman who, despite turning 31 this July, was given a new contract at Anfield last month in recognition of his efforts.

"At the moment things are going well, I have scored in the last four games now, which is nice to do.

"My confidence is high, but that is also to do with the management and my team-mates.

"I think the confidence of every player is high at the moment, because everyone is doing well.

"It is the same for me, I am feeling much better than I did at the beginning of the season, and I am enjoying playing football again."

Despite being prolific in Dutch football, Kuyt was converted to a right-sided midfielder by Benitez because of his outstanding work ethic and has had limited opportunities to play as a centre-forward.

The departure of Fernando Torres in January and injury to £35million club record signing Andy Carroll has afforded him more chances up front and he has seized the opening - and his partnership with Liverpool's other transfer window arrival Luis Suarez has already shown signs of being one worth pursuing.

Suarez won the second-half penalty from which Kuyt scored and the Dutchman repaid the favour by laying on the pass for the Uruguay international to score the third against the Magpies and secure a win which lifted Liverpool up to fifth.

"It is great to have him here. Luis is doing very well so far, and I am very happy to play alongside him," added Kuyt.

"It is great to have a player like him in the team. He is always moving, always trying to create something, and the moment he gives you the ball he is already on the move again to get it back.

"It makes it so much easier for you.

"Everyone could see we had problems earlier in the season but then things changed and everyone can see that when you add two quality players to a team, then things can change."
