Isn't the voting done around January? Which makes it even worse.

TBH I thought Paul Scholes would have won it for similar reasons to Ryan Giggs last year.

Yes, good point. I think the shortlist is simply the six who got the most votes - it's not like the Oscars where films are nominated and then the vote takes place.

So it'll be Bale because there was so much more hype about him a month or two ago (before his injury) than there has been about anyone else, at least until the recent hype about Parker which I've only noticed in the last couple of weeks (i.e. after the votes were cast).

Probably Bale followed by Adam as they were hyped so much around the time.
