He posted a link yesterday to some LFC forum, don't know which one. The link was about a thread about Mata and some lad who claims to be an ITK reckons Mata has already signed and that the friendly v Valencia is part of the deal.

He's not posted much this lad when asked who his source was he wouldn't give anything away.

No doubt he's probably talking out of his bum hole.

Well there we go then. It's all about Champions league for these guys, and the sides that play season in season out in that comp will attract these players.

Torres was quoted as saying "if your not playing in the Champions league you don't exist as a player", bit melodramatic imo, but it's how these guys think.

Like it or not, we've been left behind because of other clubs getting massively wealthy owners, we have a lot to do to change the perception of lfc in the minds of the so called 'superstar' players, and we need to do it reasonably quickly, because even the players we have will be wanting Champions league footie pretty sharpish, or they'll just go elsewhere to get it.

Hes a very good player but I think we'd have to tailor our system to suit him rarther than him just fitting straight into it

Its a fair point but people are getting too carried away

Managers are paid to buy the players they want/need, to fit the system they want to play

You dont just collect individuals and just throw them on the pitch without analysing whether they will fit your system (well not unless you are called Harry Redknapp)

Its pretty clear Kenny has a system he intends to play, and so far it is clear that system does not requiie a Mata (I have no idea whether he wants him or not)

I'm not denegrating Mata or anything but you cant judge Kenny's transfer policy until you see what hes trying to do

If the system that he decides to play shows we needed a Mata rather than a Downing then fine criticise him but its way too early to decide either way

Personally after listening to people (yourself included) jumping with joy at the signing of Joe Cole last summer, I'd tend to be a bit more patient and wait and see what the players actually bring to our team before looking for the nearest bridge

They've qualified for the CL every year for god knows how long, which is more than can be said for us. I'd rather take winning nothing but almost guaranteed CL football every season, than winning nothing and not being in it. Wouldnt you?

Of course it's prudent to wait before judging, but we'd be ****ing robots if we just didnt have ANY opinion or reaction to signings. Whether it's gut feeling, instinct, or whatever, every single normal human being has a reaction or an opinion, with regard to signings. Rightly or wrongly perhaps, but still an opinion.

And i'm sure you have an opinion too, even if you try to conceal it or just tailor it to suit whatever Kenny's doing, if that is indeed what you're doing.

And if your train of thought is to reserve judgement, then that's cool. But you're not really doing that, you're forming a judgement too, just a postive one, based on the theory that Kenny cant possibly have got something wrong. I hope it proves to be the case, i really do.

Buying British the way Kenny done have so far never worked in the PL. Aston Villa tried it and failed. Didn't even get close to a CL place even that they had players like Young and Downing.

I don't think Kenny know the foreign market well enough to buy a lot of foreigners. He know the British market, that is why he is buying British IMO.

I don't think he for example know what type of player Mata is well enough to spend £15m or something like that on him but he knew what kind of player Downing is and that is why he spent £20m on him.

Nothing to do who of them is the better player. Kenny simply don't know the foreign market well enough yet.
