    Tevez leaving City

Manchester City captain Carlos Tevez insists he will leave the Premier League club in the summer.

The news is likely to spark a worldwide transfer scramble for the 27-year-old star and comes just days after City manager Roberto Mancini claimed the Argentine would be staying.

"I want to leave Manchester City," Tevez told Argentine station Radio del Plata.

"Football has changed a lot for me and I don't know if I will even make it to the next World Cup.

"And that has nothing to do with whether I'm selected or not. I've been treated very well here and I'm grateful.

"I also gave my everything for the club to receive the results it has had. But I need a change of scene."

"To go back to Boca Juniors would be beautiful but it is very difficult," admitted Tevez. "If we're speaking seriously, financial issues would make my return difficult."

They'd probably pay 65 or 70 million for him as well

I saw that - but, if true, it goes to show how little attention Man City are paying to the financial fair play rules!!

What a horrible bloke. Financial issues make it too difficult!?

What he means is that Boca can't pay his utterly ridiculous wages. If any of this was serious he could play for a nominal amount.

Of course they're not bothered. I don't know anyone that is apart from a handful of posters on this site. Away from that most people aren't aware of it. There is no way when clubs are run by billionaires they're going to give two monkeys about rules. They make the rules. Let's ban FFP from the site.

Surely they don't need another striker. They can stick that goal machine Dzeko up front

If this is true (I'll believe it when I hear the audio) then meh let him go. It's the first in the line of the Citeh mercenaries starting to walk. He makes them tick though, he's more than just a striker for them. They will miss him

Scum missed him when he left, City to. You need that industry and work rate, Maybe they will offer us £70 million for the new and improved version ie Suarez.

I'm sure Real Madrid and any club in the world for that matter, would be VERY interested if someone offered 150/180 Mill, for one player..Of course they would..

You only have to look at the Torres situation to realise, nothing is a given in this game..

That sort of fee is an utter absurdity. Anyone turning it down would be a cretin.

I think anyone PAYING that sort of money for a player is a bit..

What does that value Messi at then?
