Tevez leaving City

Thing is Tevez has wanted out for about 18months and made it all very clear, even with a written request so he'd forgo loyalty payments etc.

Corrinthians allegedly tabled a reasonable offer which City refused. Tevez clearly still wants to go and hopes that January will present another opportunity. Why he even travelled with the squad is the real question, this should have been dealt with back in Manchester rather than on the night.

He's got a good lawyer re: the warming up excuse/misunderstanding, it joins all the dots.

City accepted the Corinthians offer but backed out when try realised they couldn't actually afford it.

It was all based on the lucrative TV contract for which they thought they will be able to get the advance and that didn't happen.

It wasn't only the TV deal. They had other sponsors lined up that would have paid a bit of it. That is the way they do transfer business now in Brazil.

It is all about money, politics and trying to save face. City know that Tevez want out but refuse to sell him. They also know by acting this way they will get a pissed off player.

Tevez have acted in a **** way but City have also acted like idiots.

It is up to them to create rules for example that the players must learn English. If they don't, well, don't blame the players if they don't bother to learn it. You can't then come out and blame the player not doing it.

That was one of the first things Rafa did when we appointed him. Every player had to speak as much as English they could, on and off the pitch. Talking Spanish for example in interviews was a no go.

I just think it is bloody stupid that clubs blame players for not learning English when they easily could just tell the players that they must do it or they will be sold.

According to the radio at the moment it looks as if City are now charging him for breach of contract.

Apparently they're having a disciplinary hearing in the next few days.

I hope they **** him off and we never hear his name again. Miserable old goat.

Strange thing to do. He would walk away on a free transfer if City won the case. He would of course be forced to pay the wages for the reminder of his contract.

Tevez would easily get that money back when he sign a deal with another club.

pleased to see City taking a stance here, refusing to play when asked is quite simply disgraceful.

As long as you get paid by the club then you do what the manager tells you to do.

This is true but the good thing about it is that to do that he will have to play football in Europe which apparently he doesn't want.

I hope they sue the **** out of him.

I would expect that his licence would not be revoked.
                              Oh I don't know.

Not a chance. Chelsea won a case against Mutu for breach of contract. He was forced to pay the money plus interest that Chelsea paid Parma when they signed him.

So it may not be the wages he will have to pay. It will be whatever City paid when they signed him.
