    Kia confirms Corinthians bid
Agent insists deal is close to being done

Carlos Tevez's representative Kia Joorabchian has confirmed he has already held talks with Corinthians about a possible return to the club.

And Joorabcian feels that the transfer is 'close' to being completed.

Tevez was previously with Corinthians for two years after joining from Boca Juniors in 2004.

He left Brazil for West Ham, before his big-money switches to Manchester United and Manchester City.

But the 27-year-old Argentine is now desperate to leave Eastlands, citing his family as the reason for his desire to leave England.

It was presumed a move to the continent, most likely Spain, would be on the cards but now an unlikely return to South America appears to be a realistic option according to Joorabchian.

A bid of around £40million is understood to have been lodged by the Brazilian giants, who are reportedly able to fund the deal because of sponsorship deals and new TV deal which has boosted the finances of Brazil's top clubs.

"Negotiations have already begun. Corinthians are in contact with us," said Joorabchian.

"His [Tevez] dream and mine is to see him back with Corinthians. He said he has a job that does not end there, he wants to return because he has the dream of winning the Copa Libertadores.

"Corinthians have made the offer, now it depends only on Manchester City. The City has to make a decision.

"Everybody is working to make this happen, I, Corinthians, Tevez, Adrian Ruocco (the other agent who work on Tevez).

"It is impossible to determine the situation, but I think it's close."

Joorabchian insists that Tevez would only consider playing for two clubs in South America.

"Carlos will not play for any other Brazilian club than Corinthians, that is an absolute certainty," he told ESPN Brasil.

"Boca Juniors and Corinthians are in his heart. He would only play for the these two clubs if he when back to Brazil and Argentina."

The Brazilian transfer window closes on July 20th, which means any deal need to be done soon - but Joorabchian insists that Tevez does have other options in Europe.

"The priority is Corinthians, but we have other options," he said.

"Carlos was the best player in the Premier League [last season], he was the scorer of the team for two consecutive years, he won the FA Cup.

"So he has much appeal in the European market. He is no longer a boy, today he is a great player."

Joorabchian insists that playing in Brazil would not be a step down for Tevez, adding: "Football in Brazil has changed, grown. His dream was always to return to the Corinthians, and this time there is a possibility."

Corinthians have also confirmed they are hopeful a deal will be done, their director of football Duilio Monteiro Alves said: "I don't want to get our fans' hopes up. We'll try... that's all I can say.

"[Signing Tevez] isn't impossible. It's a dream we're trying to realise."

well - if he goes to corinthians for £40m then fair enough - i don't think city can can complain to much - they get a decent fee, get him of their wages, get rid of the moaning cunt, and he doens't go to an english or european rival - i'm sure they'd much rather sell him back to south america for £40m than say chelseas for £60m

If you move to another country and don't bother to learn another language of course you are going to be bored and miss friends and family because you haven't made any new friends and have isolated yourself. Surely this is obvious even to a footballer. I can't have any sympathy for him given this.
Of course in principle you're right, in an ideal world we'd all make sensible decisions about everything, but reality isn't always that straightforward. I agree he does seem rather self-absorbed when not playing but that doesn't mean he hasn't had genuine problems off the field.

On top of that some people have great difficulty learning a second language and footballers aren't necessarily the most intellectually elastic people.

(In fact some people have trouble learning a first. Fredo for instance.)

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez confirms Corinthians offer & admits he would be interested in returning to the Brazilian club
The 27-year-old striker, who is currently in Argentina with the national side for the Copa America, says he would have no problem reuniting with his former club

Carlos Tevez has confirmed he would be interested in a return to Corinthians from Manchester City.

The Brazilian club have made clear their intention to sign the striker on loan from Eastlands and negotiations between his agent and the South American side are believed to be ongoing.

The City captain, 27, has repeatedly cited his desire to live nearer his children in Argentina as the reason for him wanting to leave Eastlands.

He told Telefife: "An offer arrived [from Corinthians] and I would have no problem returning. They got in contact with me, sent an offer to the club and in eight to 10 days the transfer market in Brazil closes."

The Argentina international, who is currently in his home country with the national side for the 2011 Copa America, played for the Sao Paulo club for a year before his move to West Ham United in 2006.

He was named the league’s best player after netting 25 goals in 38 games in his one and only season with them.

The signing of Tevez from Boca Juniors in January 2005 broke their transfer record at the time, when they signed the forward for £13.7 million.

He joined his current club from rivals Manchester United in 2009, and captained the side to their first piece of silverware since a 1976 League Cup win when they won the FA Cup final 1-0 against Stoke City in May.

He also skippered the club to their first Champions League qualification by helping them finish third in the Premier League, guaranteeing them a spot in the group stages.

Manchester City have received a £35m bid from Brazilian side Corinthians for Carlos Tevez - but the offer is likely to be rejected by the Eastlands hierarchy.

Corinthians hope to bring 27-year-old back to the club where he enjoyed previous success from 2004-2006 and made their move after Tevez revealed he wanted to leave City to be reunited with his family.

City are considering the 40m Euro offer, but early indications are that Corinthians will need to increase their bid if they are to persuade the Eastlands outfit to sell the striker, who captained them to their first major trophy in 35 years when they won the FA Cup in May.

BBC Sport understands that City will step up their pursuit of Atletico Madrid's Sergio Aguero once Tevez's future has been settled after opening dialogue with the La Liga side about the Argentina striker.

City boss Roberto Mancini is an admirer of the 23-year-old but City will not move to progress any deal until Tevez's next move has been decided to avoid a stockpile of strikers at Eastlands. Yeah because right now they only have Balotelli, Tevez, Dzeko, Bellamy, Adebayor....

Atletico are expected to demand £45m for Aguero, leaving City with the option of funding a transfer with the money brought in from potential sale of Tevez.

City are in no mood to rush into any decision on Tevez until their asking price - likely to be in excess of £40m - is met, believing they are in a powerful position to decide when any deal is done as he remains on a highly-lucrative, long-term deal.

Tevez 's contract is understood to be worth in excess of £200,000-a-week and it remains to be seen if Corinthians will match those lucrative terms.

Tevez has been linked with a transfer to several of Europe's top clubs since announcing his desire to leave, including Italian side Inter Milan, who subsequently ruled out a move for the forward.

It initially seemed a fanciful prospect that Tevez would be able to move to South America, as no club was believed to have the financial clout to sign him from City.

However, it is thought the massive transfer fee, almost treble the Corinthian club record of £13.7m that brought him to the Brazilian club in 2004, would be funded through sponsorship and money from TV rights.

"Brazil's economy is booming and there is a new TV deal which is going to get the Brazilian clubs a lot more money on the table for them," said BBC South America football correspondent Tim Vickery.

"Tevez did very well for Corinthians in 2005 - he helped the club to the Brazilian championship - before he moved to England the following year. It would be closer to his daughters in Buenos Aires and so I think we have to say that this is a possibility."

Tevez handed in a transfer request at Eastlands in December 2010 but later withdrew it.

He struggled for form towards the end of last season but still finished level with Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov as leading scorer in the Premier League as City finished third
