I can just see them doing something in revenge for what City did after nicking him from them. Their poster boy and best player gone seems the ideal opportunity...
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Probably not to wise given they'll sign Sergio Aguero straight after though!

        Corinthians - No Tevez deal
Brazilian club refute claims from City boss Mancini

Corinthians have denied claims from Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini that a deal has been agreed for Carlos Tevez.

The Argentina international has confirmed he wants to leave Eastlands this summer as he is missing his young family, who are still in South America.
Brazilian side Corinthians are the only club to have made firm offers for City's striking talisman, with an initial offer of £35million rejected before they returned with an improved bid of £40million.

Mancini, who is currently in North America for City's pre-season tour, told Sky Sports News earlier on Monday that 'an agreement' had been reached between the two clubs.

However, Corinthians later released a statement on their own website insisting this is not the case and that City have attempted to make changes to their initial agreement.

        Nothing concrete

"Regarding the news published during the early hours of today stating an agreement between Corinthians and striker Carlos Tevez, the (club) president Andres Sanchez would like to clarify to the public that Manchester City did not accept the Corinthians offer for the player," read the statement.

"The truth is that the club sent Corinthians a counter-proposal in the early hours, that due to the time difference only was noticed by the Alvinegra (White and Blacks) management this morning.

"In the counter-proposal, the English club have asked for changes in the form of payment and on the value of the transfer.

"In addition, Manchester City has also insisted that Tevez would have to give up a pending amount with the English club.

"Lastly, president Andres Sanchez informs that for the time being there does not exist anything concrete for Tevez and the counter-proposal will be analysed by him and by his management."

Corinthians release official statement pulling out of Tevez transfer. Cite Brazilian transfer window deadline as reason. How convenient.

Somehow I think there is a touch of the bitters about this deal. Its as if they never really expected it to get done or probably bid hoping city would turn them down. Blaming the closing of the window is very convenient.

                        Monday 18 July 2011

Tevez to be returned to the wild

Manchester City have agreed to let centre-forward Carlos Tevez return to the wild, admitting that their attempt to domesticate him has been a ‘complete failure’.

The signing of Tevez was seen a something of a risk by many observers, with some fans groups suggesting that tethering such a magnificent beast for their weekly entertainment was ‘cruel’.

Fan Michael Gallagher told us, “Creatures like Carlos Tevez don’t belong in mansions in quiet Cheshire villages, having their natural urges tamed by club officials.”

“They belong in the wild, foraging for food, and being the subject of scary stories that use to scare our children into behaving.”

“The club will tell you that they’ve taught him valuable life skills, and phrases such as ‘get ball’ and ‘score goal’, but that will just make it harder for him to reintegrate back in the wild.”

                        Tevez released
The Tevez experiment is likely to see Manchester City return to purchasing only tame or house-broken creatures from this point forward.

A club official told us, “We want a player who can excite the fans, knows where the goal is, but also doesn’t look like they’d bite the head off a chicken if you left them alone with one.”

“It would be an added bonus if they know how to use a western toilet. The one at the training ground is in a right state.”
                        3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Puts our friend Tevez in a bit of a pickle then.

                            Got to be Madrid next?

He can't go back to City now, surely.

According tio Tim Vickery, they didn't have the cash to make payment until the TV deal kicked in next year. Apparentley they wanted him on the never never until next summer.
