i missed him out on purpose as to not appear biased....the point is - whilst nothing against scholes, he was a very good player - i could name with ease, with no real bias and hardly any thought, 10 players better than scholes in his 'era' that i can't see any valid debate in favour of scholes against them.
i could go on, and add the likes of Zola, Shearer, Keane, Bergkamp, Viera, Maldini etc who could be argued we as good/if not better. - and i'm not even mentioning the likes of Gullit, Baresi, Weah, Best, Dalglish, Pele, Maradona, Cruyff, Van Basten - the list could go on...
this isn't a bash at scholes - just a bash at the unreal ott reaction for him retiring he was a good pplayer, and admiration is high especially from fellow pros because he was talented, quiet and well liked but in 5 years time....when you draw a list of top 10 players, top 20 players, top 50 players etc - scholes will be long forgoten i reckon
-****ing hell when he got brought on i pissed myself and said to my mate, thats it - the mancs have conceded this and are given scholes a farewell.

, etc. I think it's wrong and unnecessarily mean-spirited but at least it's an arguable point of view.
