He would play better if he played with better players. He was very often left all alone and didn't had any player backing him up.Originally posted by ashey View PostSterling's 12 - 18 months off being ready for the 1st team. You only had to watch how easily the German U17 lads shouldered him off the ball last night to see that.
Germany saw him as the main threat so they marked him out of the game. He very often had at least two players against him when he got the ball.Stop the cyberhate

I thought Sterling lacked awareness and general team play last night, his decision making was not always the best either, he'll improve but we need to ground our expectations of this very young player IMO. He kind of reminded me of Babel at times, can run fast, has a good shot but doesn't involve others in his moves.* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Because he's nowhere near ready, and bringing him in too soon could damage his development.Originally posted by Arn View PostWhy not give Sterling a chance instead? He is probably even quicker than Lennon and have a better game intelligence. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Would, could, should, but does'nt do it enough though, if he did what he's capable of doing consistently, then all the top clubs would be in for him, because when he's in full flow he can be superb, but as i say, it's not consistent enough imo, not for the price they'd likely ask anyway.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostLennon would beat men, make things happen and create mayhem with his pace and directness.
Aquilani will do very little and get injured.Last edited by Vermilion; 05-07-11, 07:06 PM.

Vermillion....'would' because he doesnt play for us. So, "in the event that we signed him, he WOULD beat men..."
As for the 'all top clubs would be in for him' - we couldnt give Aquilani away for peanuts, so i dont think that argument helps HIS cause either.Last edited by Craig_H; 05-07-11, 08:10 PM.

Great prospect/potential in the same way as Pacheco but the difference in step up is huge..
These lads will get their time but Aquilani/Lennon comparisons to Sterling etc are just daft..
