Not having a go at anyone in particular (OK, danperkins?) but to call Villas Boas a mercenary is ridiculous. It's just stupid and philosophically lazy to hold people in football to a higher standard of behaviour than applies to the rest of us.
There's the occasional instance of fairly poor behaviour but even someone like Rooney eventually managed to work out last autumn that there were more important things than money and reined in his agent.
