We'll never negotiate a bargain ever again. Was feeling confident about this season, but starting to feel a little nervous because I'm not overly convinced with the massive fees we've dished out this season when you look at what we've gotten in return. I trust Kenny but I think that there are the ingredients for this to be a great success or a horrific disaster.
All the prices quoted on our recent signings have been inflated by the media
Mainstream press reported Henderson was £20 million, when it is £13 million down plus £3.5 million in potential add ons
Mainstream press reported Adam was £9 million, when it is £6.75 million down plus £1.75 million in potential add ons
Now the mainstream press reporting Downing for over £20 million, but it is supposedly £15 million down plus £3.5 milllion in potential add ons according to people elsewhere
Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."
We're getting the players our manager wants and it's encouraging. There are a lot of positives to take from this signing.
Downing gives us balance in midfield, the natural width we've sorely missed. He's a great complement for Carroll and Adam, because he's a very good crosser of the ball and provides an outlet for Adam's diagonal balls. I think his productivity will surprise a lot of people.
We seem to be looking at players who are not necessarily star players, but productive and efficient ones. I'd have liked to get someone who is more dangerous in isolation with a defender, but it looks like Kenny emphasizes team offense rather than individual offense. Adam, Henderson and Downing are all great passers and it's going to help us tremendously in breaking down inferior teams, which has been our biggest problem. I love the balance this front six brings:
Henderson Gerrard Adam Downing
Suarez Carroll
I also feel we could at times, especially in away games, see:
Henderson
Gerrard Adam
Suarez Carroll Downing
Taking advantage of Henderson's versatility and ability to start passing sequences from deep. Downing is not a one dimensional player, he plays very well on the right and has the ability to find his niche in a more fluid system.
Anyway, I trust Kenny's judgment. We just need a LB now, that's the only position in which we have a glaring hole.
Whta no Lucas, our very own player of the year?
Gerrard and Adam in the middle together is a recipe for disaster. One will go marauding up the field while the other stands with his hands on his thighs rasping for air. If we lose the ball we'll be very prone to counter attacks through the middle of the park.
Welcome Stewart and hopefully you will prove many doubters wrong.
Yep, me included.
Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."
Always, keep your face to the sun, and shadows will fall behind you.

Not to be funny, but where do you get these figures from? You got any sources you could link too. All fees are educated guesses and idle speculation, unless the club shows it at some point we dont really know.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
"Downing completed more crosses in open play - 135 - than any other player in the Premier League last season. No other player has beaten that amount for any of the last three campaigns".
With the Mighty Carroll waiting in the box it's just got to be a great deal at any price.
Everything we have done has made us stronger this window and Last. Think in the last 6 months we have added Suarez, Carroll, Henderson, Adam and Downing. Pretty much £100m worth of talent coming into the squad. Dont see how anyone can be unhappy with that. We have brought in about £58m too from getting rid of players. So a net spend of £42m is pretty decent for the strength we have now got.
