The Premier League will probably bottle their investigation now.

They should appeal it, but it sounds like they consider the matter closed.

Not sure where this leaves football if you can refuse to cooperate with investigation and just cop a tiny fine.

So they get off cos the offenses are time barred after 5 years...

But they’re fined for not cooperating with the uefa investigation...

If they had cooperated, the investigation would have concluded within the 5 years, and they would have been punished more!! What a great system!

The whole world is now America. Do what you want, with anyone, of any age, and get away with it by flashing the cash. Now we have the "Man City Precedence" that can be used by lawyers of any club in any court. No wonder the Saudis were going full tilt with Newcastle. They knew.

Sad day for the sport really. No surprise to see Guardiola being an arrogant, classless piece of ****e either.

Oh well. Makes it even sweeter that we have absolutely trollied them this season.
And yet still there's a fair chunk of football fans that would rather they won it than us

They need to audit the players and find out where their income is being paid from

                          This is depressing.

It's not about whether FFP is ideologically right or wrong. Whatever the rules, there would be winners and losers.

It's about being able to break the rules at will, and then being able to avoid sanctions on a technicality of process. It completely destroys the credibility of the governing body, and its rules.

This really is no different in getting a cup final result overturned in the courts on a VAR technicality.

I don't know where UEFA go from there. They set the rules and should be able enforce them as they see fit. Everything is undermined, and so in theory, up for grabs.
                          Oh I don't know.

Ok so what are the silver linings? There's always some:

                            1. Uefa will get off their fat cat arses and not take 5 fecking years to bring a case.

                            2. City's players wages, Pep's wages, dodgy partnerships will be under more scrutiny than any other club. Thus City don't have carte blanche in the market.

                            3. Uefa are mightily pissed at having their knickers pulled down (unlikely as they're very probably on City books but we can hope).

                            4. Post-FSG / Klopp we will be THE massive team to buy for whatever cost. China will spend billions to further their global expansion drive, both in terms of buying us and then filling us with galacticos. FFP and Uefa be fecked.

I wonder if the historical European super powers will now look to create a breakaway super league to exclude the nouveau riche

This is a bad day all round - an opportunity missed to set a precedent
