    ****ing great isn't he.

And strangely, despite his brilliance for us so far, I get the feeling there's a lot more to come from him too.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

This lad needs to get back to the basics.
Fast becoming a liability.......culpable for the first (although most lies at Carra's feet), and produced a couple moments of madness at the back (one in particular was a baffling, PFK-style moment).
Had hoped the recent spate of poor performances was out of his system, but he's playing by default at the moment rather than what he's offering us at the back, or going forward.

I thought it was a mixed performance from Enrique yesterday; he seemed to start off well and covered well, but for Arsenal's first goal he gave Sagna four yards to measure his delivery and dangled a weak leg at it - he needs to get out to those much quicker, it's almost as if he is on his back heel ready to track the run as apposed to addressing the immediate danger of the cross.

My only concern is the Sagna example isn't the only one.

But he finished strongly and played well alongside Skrtel, I thought he was a little more reserved going forward, but still supported Downing when possible.

defensively he's been great most of the season but going forwards he's too slow and ponderous, it might be down to lack of trust in who's infront of him or them not gelling as a unit but the left really does need to be worked on and creating more than it has all season.

It's in both defence and attack he's making mistakes.

He's one of the main culprits in giving the ball away when attacking and in defence he's made costly errors.

I'm hoping he just needs a rest, such a shame Aurelio can not be relied on, thus i'd give Robinson a go and give Enrique a rest/kick up the backside/let him ponder the competition and thus hopefully up his game.
              We come not to play.

That's pretty much what I think too.

There was one instance in the game when Enrique won the ball and he had Downing free on the left. He saw him, but decided to dribble with the ball instead of passing it.

Just watched it back again and I think Downing has to take some blame here, Sagna is his man and Enrique has come inside to pick up Walcott.

For all of the FEW of his mistakes,
I really don't think there is a better LB out there in the Prem at this moment, that I would swap him for..

He is still developing as a player and will get even better. I just wish he would release the ball that bit quicker. Gets himself into unnecessary trouble.

Having said all that, what a great signing he is.

Defensively he's spot on and his faults going forward can be worked on. He just needs to play the early ball more often - when/if he does he'll get more joy on the times he goes on one of his mazy dribbles.

he's really not. regardless of cara losing van persie, enrique must carry the most responsibility for the goal since he didn't stop the cross. he made no effort to get closer to sagna and half heartedly waved his leg at it. Piss poor and he's done it on several occassions this season.

there was a moment he chased back and out sprinted walcott and shephered the ball out, this is when he's at his best.

coming foward he's so dopey and ponderous when it gets to 25 yards out.

he has the ability and is a very good player but lacks concentration and composure at times.

Exactly - there are plenty of other players in the squad that need criticizing. If the team as a whole performed on average as well as the likes of Jose Enrique, Martin Skrtel or Craig Bellamy, we'd easily be in the Top 4 or better...
Thanks for the memories Rafa - YNWA!

Totally, Sagna was Downin's responsibility and left with even time to make a cup of tea before he crossed. Jose even had a go at Downing after the goal.

Surely the left back tracks the right winger, which Jose did by keeping track of Walcott for the goal and the left midfielder is responsible for tracking back and closing down the right back when he's going forward which Downing didn't do!
