Retrain Wisdom to left back and get Enrique out the side. Unless he improves soon he should not be getting a sniff. He has been a liability for a while now and I hope its just a phase, otherwise the early signs that he looked a decent player were wrong.

OR try Johnson left back, see how he copes for a while and Wisdom/Kelly right back. Wisdom should be given more games on the back of that performance. Sure it may have just been a stand out game but he looks very assured.

I was guilty of being taken in by the Enrique bandwagon - but, well - he's ****e.

Riise was a far better player than him, the sad fact is that Riise has been just about the best left back we have had in the last 20 years.

          Think about it

          Dicks
          Bjornebye (ok LWB)
          Staunton
          Matteo
          Ziege
          Carragher
          Arbeloa?
          Dossena
          Insua
          Johnson?
          Enrique

Don't know if you can strictly call Arbeloa a left back though. Johnson playing there has weakened right back.

Thats a **** list. We've been weak at left back for a generation!

            Weakens RB though, doesn't it?

            LFC need a specialist.

Tbh I thought he was class at first and lets be fair he had some good games for us because people were voting him in the top 3 MOTM often for about half a season. Then all of a sudden he is just getting caught out left right and centre. Starting to see his weaknesses become more exposed. I'm not sure if he is ****e or he is just going through a bad patch. I'm willing to give him more time, unlike Downing, who in my eyes is the worst transfer in the history of LFC.

For now, I think Wisdom and Kelly would do. Until we can sign someone else. Who knows maybe Wisdom is up to the challenge and we could have a talent there. It's hard to say, time will tell.

Robbie Keane was worse. At least Downing can cover for the out-of-form ****e who played left back tonight.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Seems like the start of his LFC career (up until xmas) was the exception. This form has been going on for too long to call it a bad patch. Worryingly, it seems like this might be his level.

No way was Robbie Keane a worse signing than Stewart Downing

Keane was ****ing shocking. I don't think Downing was even Dalglish's worst signing. Although he was massively overpriced, he's still a better player than Adam.

Can't agree with that. As shocking as Adam was, Downing has been worse for me and Keane at least scored a few goals for us. I've never really hated a Liverpool player. I'm ashamed to say since Downing came along that has changed. I can't stand the sight of him!!

He has very much turned out to be the Newcastle LB from way back when. Worried me when we were signing him initially, and he seems to be regressing rather than making that spot his own. Brendan just may not trust him at the back, and with very little going forward, he sees him as backup, and that's it.
Bit of a problem, as I don't think our younger FBs are at the level we need right now.....shipping goals all over the place.

                                Hatless.

                                Enrique is a strange one.

He has a lot of ability but he's not a clever player and I think he thinks he's better than he is.

He was absolutely rubbish in his first few years at Newcastle (fair enough, he was young and adapting to a new league), he was good in the Championship, Newcastle's first season back in the PL and his first few months at LFC. We were all praising him and the old MOTM threads show how good we thought he was.

There's a good player in there - ability wise - but he just has these stupid moments. At 25 or 26 he's not too old to adapt but I think he's running out of time tbh. A new LB is something we need to think about because I don't trust Jose at all and Johnson has to play on the right.
