It's the sort of thing that happens when you get idiots like Purslow making decisions.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Cutting your nose off really. Especially in a position where we've been weak for a few years now.

It certainly feels like that at times. But it is also perfectly possible that Rodgers has very strong opinions on which type of players will help him put a particular philosophy into action. I think we have to give him the benefit of the doubt and assume that, having tried and failed to implement his ideas at Reading and succeeded excellently at Swansea, he has some idea of what can be problematic.

My instinct is that the Carroll sale is premature and unnecessary but we have all seen how when a big man is introduced English sides lump the ball up. That happens with Crouch too who is a forward who probably just as much likes the ball in to feet. It seems eminently plausible that in order to instil a short passing game avoiding that might be something you need to do.

When I mentioned tragedy, I meant in terms of letting players go. And I was being serious - I'm a massive fan of his and he actually has an end product. He can cross and he gets assists.

It was a pity he left I agree. I can see your clarification and agree with it that the squad cull in general was tragic, rather than this one player.

He was probably a victim of expoectation too, like Lucas. We'll never know if he would have ended up as effective, which really is a pity.

It appears he was made a scapegoat by members of the board (Purslow et al). What they failed to look at was the fact he had got 7/8 assists and that the defence was bad as a unit. He didn't make as many mistakes as people made out either. Enrique made far more mistakes last season. I will say that Enrique is the better defender of the 2 but whilst he is very skillful, Insua was still better going forwards. Insua appears to be more suited to an all out attacking team where the full backs are practically wingers. So on that basis I think Enrique is more suited to Rodgers system where discipline is the key. But what could have been? Insua was very young and it didn't make sense getting rid of him.

I think the weight of Arn saying he will be the best left back in the world broke him.

                    What has happened to him?

Great start to his LFC career but since the turn of the year he has been steadily declining and was very poor tonight.

Hopefully this is just a run of poor form and he can drag himself out of it but the signs are not good.

He tries to do too much on the ball, and ironically the new style of play might make him more of a liability than usual.

beglin said tonight ( & i know he's a ****e co-commentator)"that Jose plays like he's pele & worse still does it in his own half"

He needs to concentrate on what he did for the 1st 4 months & stop the winger, once he gets back to basics & impressing the better

Beglin was spot on about him. He does well but often spoils his own good play by trying to take just one more player on and ends up losing the ball - and sometimes he's doing all this nearer to our goal than the opposition's!

I think his problem is he tries too hard and mucks up some simple stuff.

Did great to bail Carra out then ****ed up his clearance for the second goal.

Was shocking tonight, his constant dilly dallying with the ball is so annoying, often loses it too & his defensive positioning is awful. Gutted as i thought we were finally onto a winner at LB... sadly not.

I think people over rated him when he came. There are good aspects to his game but his dallying on the ball and moments of Dossena-like defensive positioning have been there since he came to us. He's not a terrible player but Johnson is rightly ahead of him in the pecking order and I would suggest Robinson might be soon too.
