It could be worse...He could've signed for Utd..
Swansea at home isn't a great game to gauge but they looked ok..

If you'd told me we'd sign Adam, Henderson and Downing at the end of last season i'd be very disappointed and truth be told with the types of player we could have bought it's hard not to feel disappointment.

Have the guys we've bought been a massive improvement on what we've already got? got to say no not really.

Seeing the likes of Silva and Aguero tear it up you can't help but feel gutted.
      We come not to play.

Siilva, Aguero and possibly still Tevez. NOW City are a top, top team. Even with **** management from Mancini. This team can win the league on these players' magic alone.

Hope they get Nasri too so a) they stop manure getting an easy number 20 and b) cripple Arsenal irreparably.

Obviously Aguero is a quality player but it was 'only' Swansea, 6/7 years ago they were in the third tier I think so dont really have the experience of playing big games/players, it was good man management from Mancini by not playing him against UTD in the charity shield and waiting to bring him on against a newly promoted team when the game was open, I am jealous though and wish we could of got him
          RIP IRWT post/rant, best ever

I suppose it depends how big a gap people thought there was going to be. I thought it would be pretty big - what's happened so far hasn't changed my mind about it all.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Is anyone else getting totally fed up of reading defeatist **** about our new players after one ****ing game? We bought ****, I wish we had Man City's players, I wish we had Man United's players, boo hoo hoo...

It takes away all the pleasure of reading the board.

And with that I'm offline for a couple of days...

There are more knee-jerk reactions than posters on here these days. But then again there are only 37 games left, and it would be unbelievable to think we could yet manage to get a new team played together in that time and have a good run.

And City's weakness will still be them being a bunch of individuals rather than a team. We are building a team, it takes time, and it takes much more than just buying a handfull of brilliant individuals.

Patience is also a virtue, although it seems to be in short supply behind the computer screen and even in the near vicinity of ones chair.

Go to a park, the forrest or something similar ffs and spend a day there without the computer and the internet, I think it could do a lot well these days. Perhaps even coming back appreciating time?

When i said about 'effectively' midtable, i was referring to 7th and 6th, which isnt a whole lot far off it.

I hope people like Henderson and Downing do surprise me and make me glad we opted for them, instead of someone like Kun.
You do realise that though we could have afforded the transfer fee, we could never afford his wages.Kun earns 200,000 to 250,000 a week at City where as the best we could have given him would be 120,000 approx. There's no way he would come here.

End of the day, money talks and we don't have that kind of money.

Except that Suarez had no real takers except us and he was desperate to leave where as Aguero had a ton of options and he was already on a butt load at Atleti too. Suarez wasn't getting the kind of money at Ajax that we offered.

I think he'd have come to us, he's virtually a kid, not like he's on his last legs and gagging for one last shot at CL. By his own admission a Liverpool fan, i think he would've come to us. You dont? Fair enough.

Each to their own. I'd rather have world class players who would fire us to a title challenge.
“I used to like Liverpool and remember watching their Champions League final,” Aguero told ESPN.

“I cheered every goal as they made their comeback. So yes, I liked Liverpool, but to say I was a fan is a bit too strong.”

I hope that clears it. You might have wanted him, but once City was in with Champions League and a **** load of wages, there is no way he was coming to us.
