He's a worry in a lot of ways for me. Not sure tackles should be his main objective (defensively I think interceptions are at least as important in his role) but it is indicative of a general problem that he seems worse in second halves as does the rest of the team. His role is to set the tempo of the game so he deserves a greater share of the criticism IMO.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostCan't find a recent thread with his name in the title so a new one will suffice.
Read earlier that Charlie Adam attempted 0 tackles in the 2nd half v Wolves.
A conscious decision or just too slow to get there?
Can we afford to carry someone in CM who either doesn't make tackles or gives away endless free kicks?
I think it is harsh to say he brings nothing to the game - his long shots and set pieces have been decent and he plays some lovely passes - but there are big problems both when he is under pressure and defensively in general."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

im not convinvec by adam/lucas its not a championship winning centre midfield, I think they both play too deep as well the link between midfield and upfront isnt there. It makes it easy for teams to play a high tempo game and close us quickly leaves us with the option to boot it to Carroll instead of passing it out.
I think it makes Adam our most important player if he wells play the link is there if not, then we wont win, Spurs is an example.

Free kick delivery to Suarez against Sunderland, the corner kick assist to Skrtel against Bolton and I'd guess Johnson's OG on Saturday also counts as an assist..Originally posted by Liverpool View Postregarding his assists, one was off a set piece what about the other 2?Last edited by Mostar; 29-09-11, 12:18 AM.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

This is my concern. I don't know whether it's down to individuals fading or a failure to withstand and respond to tactical adjustments made at half-time by the opposition. Either way it's a concern and I feel we're making substitutions too late.Originally posted by dww View PostHe's a worry in a lot of ways for me. Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.
