This is starting to seem like some agenda

If they put him down as having attempted no tackles against the mancs, then i'll be very suspicious!

Hmmm, wonder what the technical definition is of a tackle?!

If Adam wants to be consistent starter for a top 4 PL with ambitions of winning the league, he needs to up his game to the next level - defensively, in setting the passing tempo by playing more efficient passes and improve his reading of the game.

He is a very useful player to have in the squad. He will provide assists. However when we get into Europe I can see us getting owned in the CM battle and loosing the game. He will need to provide more defensive cover through his positioning and create space and link with the attack under pressure.

Adam is a 3rd name in the team sheet after Suarez and Gerrard for me. For all of his weaknesses defensively, he provides us with creativity and goalscoring chances. That cannot be ignored and we need to use other players to cover for him. We have "the best defensive midfielder in the league" according to some, we can afford having him cover Adam since he usually contributes nothing offensively.

I agree with you regarding his creativity which is why I suggested this front-line for the derby. Adam's set pieces are good also which makes his neccessary.

Kenny experimented with a bent midfield four during pre season and I can see him using a similar formation against the mancs, with Downing or Bellamy as a lone wide man switching flanks, two strikers and a middle three.

                -----------Reina
                Kelly Carragher Agger Enrique
                -----------Lucas
                -----Gerrard----Adam
                ----------------------Downing
                ------Suarez----Carroll

This is strong enough defensively to carry us through.

Why? I think he seriously lacks defensive ability, which for me is a problem. Personally I think he could be the one to drop out when Gerrard is fully fit.

Gerrard and Lucas make a very bad CM pairing. Neither of them can dictate play.

Drop Adam and our offensive game suffers.

I don't think Adam can dictate play any better, I see Gerrard and Lucas as a similar type of partnership to Adam and Lucas, but Gerrard is a better player than Adam.

I've seen enough of Gerrard and Lucas to form judgment, they are a worse midfield pairing than Adam and Lucas. It's offensively challenged and our organized passing game will go to **** with them at CM.

We need to find a way to have both Gerrard and Adam in the team, and Kenny will make it happen.

Didn't suffer against the ten men of Everton, indeed I think it was Lucas who won the ball and set Bellamy off for the first goal.

Personally I think Adam will be a liability against the stronger teams and I pray he will is not in the starting eleven against United. As mentioned earlier in this thread he is perpetually caught in no man's land, be it down to lack of fitness or positional sense.

Against teams who sit deep at Anfield I can certainly see his worth, but against the top teams who will press the play we cannot afford to play Adam in a central two or suffer a repeat of the Spurs game.

Clutching at straws. That goal was all Enrique and Bellamy.

We had plenty of chances to score before Adam went off. The sub that changed the game was Bellamy/Downing.

Adam is our second most productive player after Suarez. Facht.
