Apparently these fines get filtered down to grassroots (I hate that word) level to improve lower league standards and facilities. How true that is I don't know.Originally posted by Neil Young View PostThere are reports of a £300,000 fine.
Where does the money from fines go? I'm sure it was discussed recently, either here on in one of the papers.
Bernstein said earlier that Cole did it in the heat of the moment. So he picked up his phone, typed out a tweet and clicked 'send' in the heat of the moment. Get a grip.

Thanks. I certainly don't believe it. I mean, is that in addition to budgeted spending? How do they allocate it fairly then?Originally posted by Lee View PostApparently these fines get filtered down to grassroots (I hate that word) level to improve lower league standards and facilities. Yes, of course. That's ok then.Originally posted by Lee View PostBernstein said earlier that Cole did it in the heat of the moment. So he picked up his phone, typed out a tweet and clicked 'send' in the heat of the moment. Get a grip.
The FA are a f*cking joke..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

No idea, probably because it's bollocks.Originally posted by Neil Young View PostThanks. I certainly don't believe it. I mean, is that in addition to budgeted spending? How do they allocate it fairly then?
Bernstein was on Talksport (I know) last week talking to Keyes and Gray. They asked him where the fines go and he hastily said that they get filtered down to grassroots football, he then quickly moved onto the next question. So I think it's safe to say that it goes to the FA's Christmas party.

Interesting views from Lord Triesman:
He said: "I couldn't understand why the sanction was different for a Liverpool player and for John Terry."
"It may be when you look at all the detail they thought there were reasons for [it]. I can't see it."
"The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

He also praised Bruce Buck then and the way Chelsea handled it, contrasting it sharply with LFC's behaviour, and suggesting that the difference may explain the difference in the bans for the two players. Maybe he's friends with Buck or maybe it's a genuine comment but either way it's interesting that a former head of the FA thinks it's feasible that Suárez got a longer ban because of the way his club handled the PR.
