Firstly because United have been linked with everyone from Christiano Ronaldo to Sister Wendy Beckett but also because Mourihno won't want somebody with an ego bigger than his at the club. I know he likes to sign old players who can do a job for a year or two but surely even Zlat is a step too far for him.

I think he'll go there. The Mancs are after all the biggest club in the world and need to have a marque signing coming in that will be the catalyst to drive them back to the top for the next decade or so.

Mourinho and Zlatan will be part of their long term strategy as both are known for their longevity with clubs and selfless behaviour for the cause.
