Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer got his claws into Liverpool counterpart Jurgen Klopp this afternoon.

Klopp irritated Solskjaer last season when he said United had received more penalties in two-and-a-half seasons than Liverpool had in his entire five-and-a-half seasons at the club.

Solskjaer, fresh from seeing Jesse Lingard not get a penalty against West Ham on Wednesday when he appeared to be fouled by Mark Noble and two further spot-kick claims getting turned down at the London Stadium last weekend, thinks Klopp's comments are having an impact.

"There was a certain manager who was worried about us getting penalties last year and after that the decisions were different. I have seen a big difference since then on."

This is brilliant. Klopp’s got referees to stop giving them penalties AND has got the PE teacher cracking up. Get in, Jürgen. Time for another provocative comment, methinks. Let’s get them losing another CL game next week too.

Wonder if Klopp ever feels guilty about the amount of rent free accommodation he gets.

He seems to have free lodgings in the heads of Ole, Dyche, Pep and a couple others every season. Granted some of that accommodation is going to be in a fairly rundown and dusty condition, but free nonetheless.
