    Decent para

The Glazers have been terrible football club owners. At the same time they have been very good at being terrible owners. Expertly parasitical, beautifully slick at turning Manchester United into an Avanti trains kind of club: something fundamentally shabby and grudging, all cut corners, blocked toilets, skeleton staff, the natural monopoly on their fans’ footballing loyalties stretched thin for a quick buck

My dad, who is as big a red as Phil Thomson (his nickname is red ted) said he was the best play he ever saw. He was brilliant, but you will also notice from those clips just how **** defenders were back in the day. Carthorses every one of them.

So were the pitches. Imagine what he'd be like now on a better football pitch with a slick surface, he'd destroy any defender.

I'd agree but Pele always did in South America, warmer pitches, but then in Europe you think of Eusebio, Johan Cruyff and my fave Zbigniew Boniek. Plus you have to add in a certain Mr Kenny into the mix, but he never did it on the Intl stage

Reminds me of the Ronaldo / Messi argument, Messi has really only hot the heights in Spain whereas Ronaldo did it in Stoke (at some point) plus other places.

Yep, but equate to others, Not minimising KD's intl career but in fairness and if you read is auto bio, it was no where near his club career / form

His strength and balance were incredible considering the amount of atrocious tackles he had to put up with.

Better international record than Best if we are looking at his goals to games.

Kenny excelled in the European cup also.

We will say Kenny was better, Mancs will say Best was better. Both were stand out brilliant players that played in eras with pitches of lower quality, footballs of lower quality and when GBH was seen as an acceptable tackle.

get that - the Scottish side vs the Irish sides wee chalk and cheese tho.

Can't say I would have a clue as to how good the players in the Northern Ireland team alongside Best were, but Kenny certainly had some top class players playing alongside him during his time in the Scottish national team.

Am sitting here now trying to think of players that played for Northern Ireland at any time and I have hit a wall after Best, Whiteside, O 'Neil and I think Gillespie. I really do not have a clue about their football teams over the years
