Huge news has been reported by Bild journalist Christian Falk on Wednesday, as he announced that Manchester United have made a €160m bid for Bayern Munich striker Thomas Muller.

Christian Falk is a chief reporter at Bild, who focuses on Bayern Munich.

According to the report, Man United have offered Muller a five year contract to move to Old Trafford, as the Red Devils have put together a €160 million package that includes the transfer fee and the total wages offered in the deal.

        Muller said:

When a request comes, automatically you deal with it. A request from a big club is an honor and a reward that [the player] is performing well. But I feel happy at Bayern, and my contract runs until 2019. There is nothing more to say on these speculations.

Munich are way ahead of United. Muller is a world class player, apart from the financial gain.. it would be a bad footballing move for him IMO.

The Manchester United striker Robin Van Persie is edging closer to a move to Fenerbahce after reaching an agreement in principle with the Super Lig side.

It is understood that Van Persie’s agent, Kees Vos, has been in Istanbul for the past two days, involved in negotiations with the Turkish club to secure a deal. The two clubs are currently negotiating a fee for the 31-year-old, who has agreed personal terms with the club and is ready to sign a four-year deal.

The Holland international’s wife initially had reservations about a move to Turkey, but warmed to the idea after spending last week in Istanbul. The Guardian understands that the former Fenerbahce winger Dirk Kuyt has been key in convincing Van Persie to make the move. The former Liverpool player spent three seasons in Istanbul winning the Super Lig, the Turkish Cup and Turkish Super Cup during his time.

Can't help but think that United have properly reverted to type recently, and are lashing money around extravagantly like they did in the 80's under Big Ron. They had years of benefiting from the "Class of 92" and were able to build around them in a way no other team has been able to - if a big signing didn't work out, they always had the impetus and winning mentality to get through difficulties. That was epitomised by Keane and Ferguson together. I think they've regressed massively and are just another cash heavy club chucking **** at a wall with signings and hoping they stick.

As long as they keep qualifying for the CL I really don't think they care.

Nani has gone - I believe they are still funding part of his wages plus exit clauses of around €3m euros direct.
