If that's their starting budget and they don't change the scope (which they will, cos they can't afford that design) then it will be £3bn. That's because they have no scope definition or say in the key interfaces in what will become a council run project to regenerate the area.

This could be what sinks them rather than the comedy on-field performances.

    • Looks like it should be in UEA or Saudi

    • Where does the £2bn come from?

All Radcliffe did yesterday was expose how ****ed they are, all whilst throwing as many as he could; dinner ladies, ex players, current players, ex managers etc under the bus.

Seems this big announcement for the future of Manchester was made in London.
          Oh I don't know.

I can see them building a new stadium (lets be honest, Old Trafford is in need of serious maintenance, so a complete scrap and rebuild would be the best/cheapest bet) but I think it will end up being a more generic bowl. If they did something like that arena in Germany (is it the Allianz Arena or something) that would probably be more cost efficient, and not look so out of place.

Where do they plan on playing whilst this new stadium is being built, does the report say?
Sun and rain harvesting, it's for a modern world. Not dissimilar to the O2 Arena which transformed the Greenwich Peninsula. Manchester is wet as **** so an area outside the stadium is going to be a godsend.

Obviously it would be great if it was a monumental failure but don't hold your breath

It’s bold - I can’t imagine how that canopy would look after a few years of Manchester weather!

Jim sacked all those tea ladies because he knew he'd need to employ an army of window cleaners down the line

Jim Ratcliffe on United's new stadium: "The north of England has won 10 Champions League medals, London has two. The north of England deserves a stadium where England can play football, where we can hold the Champions League final."

I’m sure their fans will love him using our success. Hopefully he can say it’s 11 soon.

what a bull**** point for him to make.

Dragging in the ‘North of England’ for a stadium that literally only benefits one club.

This is the first I’ve heard from him really. He comes across as a verbose idiot.

I'd say with Ratcliffe, it wouldn't matter if the price is right.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
