But in hindsight knowing what its like here and the power rightly or wrongly that fergie had, it wasn't the wisest of moves taking him on without many allies. I admired Rafa at the time for doing it, but he couldn't win that argument, ever.
I think the media put far too much into the 'mind games' idea, its ridiculous to be honest. Whoever won the league would have been portrayed to have won the mind games, the actual fact is its just a sideshow and if it did have any effect on the end result it can only have been minimal.

I'd say Keegan was the exception and not the rule, he was cracked.

EDIT: But I agree I don't think Rafa should have got involved, there was definite truth in what got said but who was going to back him up? The old boys club of **** British manager, some who played for him? The FA who gave in to him and bent over on request? The media who were like little sluts that loved getting treated like dirt.

I saw a tweet earlier alluding to something about if you want to read about psychology, then read this book. Er.. Frued, Skinner, Jung et al have nothing on a football manager.
      Oh I don't know.

I am still convinced that Fergie chose Moyes so he would stay in the history as the greatest thing ever happen to ManU. If they had chosen winning manager, nobody would speak about him after couple of years.

Roy Keane has accused Sir Alex Ferguson of disloyalty, claiming that his former Manchester United manager 'does not know the meaning of the word'.

Ferguson has lifted the lid on his feud with Keane in his soon-to-be-published book 'My Autobiography', with the Scot claiming his authority at Old Trafford would have been undermined had he not sold the increasingly volatile player in 2005.

But the Scot has also turned fire on more of his former players, with David Beckham among those to come in for criticism, and Keane believes his former boss is out of order.

"I do remember having conversations with the manager when I was at the club about loyalty and, in my opinion, I don't think he knows the meaning of the word," he told ITV1.

"It doesn't bother me too much what he has to say about me but to constantly criticise other players at the club who brought him a lot of success, I find very very strange.

"But I won't be losing any sleep over it."

He added: "I just don't think the manager needs to do it.

"I don't know how many books he's written now but he has to draw the line eventually to say 'listen these players have been all top servants to Man Utd'.

"And a lot of these players helped the manager win lots of trophies so imagine if we'd never won a trophy what he would have said.

"We brought success to the club, we gave it everything we had when we were there.

"But, as I said, it's just part of modern life now, people like to do books and criticise their ex-players."

That rug really tied the room together.

Not too sure about that because he was pretty open about it being his choice, if Moyes ****s up its on his head, especially with it being a controversial choice.

I can't wait to see Beckham's reaction when his kids read it to him.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

For those, like me, getting annoyed by the little scottish angry ****, and his panning of those who gave him success.
Jon Snow obviously has his number!.
I'm almost thankful he wrote his ****ty book, as a direct result is this interview, which is beautiful to behold.
I grinned from ear to ear as the little **** was made squirm, and knew he couldn't blow his top in the interview, as it would prove Jon Snows many points about his tactics with players, with media etc.

All I can say is thank the lord for Jon Snow, for dissecting him for the masses of people who can see what he really is

Seriously, this is a must watch, top class!
