it was inevitable that moyes would turn to fellaini and baines
they were his 'go to' signings
try and sign some top players (fabregas/ronaldo
) and when that failed, and it looked like time was running out, go for those two.
£30m would be massive for everton
Baines would do well there (i really wouldn't be surpised to see Evra go the other way
) Fellaini though - hmm it could turn united it to long ball merchants which could be funny.
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i doComment

Agreed mate. They're both decent players, good players, but I don't think they're what United need nor United standard. Most United fans I know around here, some of them hardcore home and away, *really* don't want them to spend £30m+ on those two. They're pretty deflated
Thanks very much for beingComment

£30m is on the cheap side.
Baines was talked about in the £18m bracket earlier this summer and Fellaini at over £20m.
I reckon Everton could expect to get about £40m for the pair. The thing is Baines isn't a significant upgrade on Evra, he's better but it isn't a weakness in the United first 11.James Philip Milner Fanclub #1

Fellaini apparently had a £23m buyout clause which has just expired and the press are trying to spin it that Moyes was being 'respectful' to Everton by not activating the clause.
Was he ****! He was waiting for it to expire so he could try and buy him and Baines on the cheap

Evra's getting on, 32. He's only going to decline. Maybe it's already showing, he's had better seasons than the last one.£30m is on the cheap side.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.Comment

Yes, they'd be better off spending their money on someone younger. But I suppose Moyes wants his boy in there and someone he feels he can count on straightaway.
It's good if they spend getting on for £20m on a left back who'll need replacing in three or four years. Less money to spend elsewhere now and in future..
