People of my generation with pre-teen kids have 'forced' their kids to support LFC. So yes a lot to do with the 70s and 80s. The 'later' immigrants (post-90s) have a larger manure fanbase but they still don't outnumber the LFC ones weirdly.

I don't see the same brand loyalty with these later immigrants (sorry for using that word, but I was too) generations down the line. Don't know why but manure sold out too early where LFC was/is always a family club.

Roy Keane has reopened his feud with Sir Alex Ferguson with an explosive tirade - which is laid bare on national TV tomorrow night.

Exacting revenge by a thousand digs, Keane describes his current relationship with Fergie as "non-existent" and reveals he has only started going to watch Manchester United now his record-breaking former manager has retired.

He claims Ferguson's lavish praise for Keane's brilliant performance against Juventus in Turin, which set up United's Treble in 1999 , was "insulting" because it was "like praising the postman for delivering your letters."

Keane reveals he "lost respect" for Ferguson when the most decorated manager in British football history thought his captain was becoming too powerful in the dressing room.

He scowled: "The manager accused me of trying to manage Manchester United behind his back - but managing the dressing room, and pulling up players who stepped out of line, was part of my job.

"Nothing surprises me these days with that man."

Keane, now the Republic of Ireland's assistant manager under Martin O'Neill, admitted he felt "raw" when he left United, insisted Fergie's battle with Irish racing tycoon John Magnier over Rock of Gibraltar was a destabilising influence on United.

And he claimed Ferguson was still "striving" to exert "control and power" at Old Trafford - where new boss David Moyes is struggling, with United currently 13 points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal.

Keane's extraordinary snipes at Ferguson will be shown in a programme charting his rivalry with former Arsenal warhorse Patrick Vieira at 10pm on ITV4 tomorrow night.

Both players pick their dream teams based on their own era - and there is no room in Keane's United XI for Ryan Giggs, the most decorated player since the Premier League was invented by Richard Keys and Andy Gray.
