They need to accept that for many players in their prime they will not be an attractive club to join. Serious rebuild required that will take at least two seasons and those probably outside the CL as well. It is going to be a long and painful road back for them so I fully intend to enjoy it while it lasts. Hopefully another 27 year barren spell for the.

It's surprising how Ferguson never planned his departure properly. He left an ageing squad and failed to reinvest properly when they were at the top. Or maybe them winning the league the last time papered over the cracks and they never saw that coming. But we all did in here, so it's strange they never heeded those warnings.

Main thing is they lost, the early Gall lustre of the WC is fading, and sides will still fancy their chances v them just as they did last season, which is nice.

Van Gaal will improve them in the long run but I'm not sure he'll still be there to see it if they start to panic if results go worse. What a great sideshow to this season.

They have such an awful defence - gone from Ferdinand and Vidic to a back three of Smalling, Jones and AN Other (they would love to have all four of our main centre backs). Watching Smalling and Jones is comedy gold (apparently England's future centre back pairing ).

As for 'fighting against relegation' - that would be brilliant.

I've recently seen a lot more Utd tops (fans on the street) and Utd fans in work have seemed a lot more chipper (i.e. cocky, arrogant and deluded). Monday will be quiet

Jonny Evans, Rafael, Luke Shaw spring to mind - they could have everybody fit mind and it wouldn't make a blind bit of difference to the midfield/defence.
