The loathsome turds are all crowing about how they've still managed to attract better players than us on Facebook. Really hope this goes terribly, terribly wrong fur them.
    3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Well they haven't bought better players than us. Di Maria is not necessarily better than Lallana nor is Falcao a better player than Balotelli, by any stretch of the imagination. I'm quietly laughing seeing their moronic comments on social media.

Yeah I saw someone use the Mario Balotelli analogy: United went out to buy an experienced, reliable CB and came back with a quad bike and a trampoline.

Still it is nice to have a quad bike and a trampoline and you can't blame they for gloating a bit. The pricks.

Falcao will probably need time to settle but that's not particularly helpful for Utd. He's only on loan/option to buy after all so if he's mediocre this season due to settling in, all well and good for us. If he's great he'll have addressed a problem that Utd don't really have for this season and be off to Madrid next season irrespective of whether Utd want to keep him or not, esp with the part ownership now sorted out.

IMO Falcao will only play for Utd for one season.

Depends on how you run your budget doesn't it? If you calculate your break even with the ~£50m from CL, which is a lot of money, then of course it's a necessity. If you plan your budget without the income then it's obviously not.

I don't really think you can say it's just a cherry for any top club, as it's basically 5-7 top players wages for a year. If united have calculated CL qualification for next year, then it's a hard blow and not something you can do for many years in a row without getting a substantial debt running.

Granted it's half the tv money recieved from PL this season, but it's still a lot of money with the wages going around these days.

Why shouldn't I? Balotelli is the better buy, younger and better value and Lallana doesn't need adaptation to the British league, which doesn't make the suggestion much of a surprise.

Di Maria is clearly a better player than Lallana. I dont think youll find many who think the opposite.

I kind of agree when it comes to Balotelli, especially with the fact he is younger and better value. But I think Falcao is a better player still.

Just seemed like you were either being incredibly bias, or doing some of that famous trolling.

Not convinced by Di Maria. We'll see on a wet, cold night, in Hull.

it looks impressive on paper but i'm not sure how it's going to work and how they are going to fit in all these attacking players...

                        rooney
                        rvp
                        falcao
                        mata
                        di maria
                        januzaj

can't play them all - they'll all want to play and they'll all be on ridiculous wages.

i'd guess their best XI would be something like

                        -------------------de gea----------------

                        rafael---------jones------rojo--------shaw

                        --------------herrera-------blind--------
                        --------------------mata-----------------

                        di maria------------falcao----------rooney

which looks strong - but a lot depends on how shaw/blind/rojo can settle because Jones is **** and the defence looks weak.

squad wise they'd be left with

                        valencia
                        smalling
                        evans
                        young
                        carrick
                        fletcher
                        RVP
                        Januzai

so rvp and Januzaj apart it's not inspiring.

also it all depends on how van gaal wants play - it's a big gamble and if it doesn't come off it could be disastrous for them. anything other than top 4 having spent that money will be deemed a failure

I think they'll lamentably fail. Falcao will twist his knee on a wet patch, on a windy and frosty night, while Di Maria will wince like DanPerky's famous wimp after a robust challenge from behind.

It did make me laugh reading Phil Neville talking of all the Galacticos at Old Trafford now.

Who exactly are these players Phil? Mata? Rooney? Van Persie? Don't make me laugh. They are good players but no Galacticos - that to me means the best players in the world in their position.

An argument can be made for Di Maria, but he was ****ed off by the club synonymous with Galactico signings (against his wishes I might add). And Falcao I guess Falcao could come into that bracket but how successful he'll be is questionable. It would be no surprise at all if he did his knee again in a couple of months.

Anyway, Suarez is far superior to Falcao.

And most teams gain about £20-£30m from champions league participation. The winners, finalists and semi finalists may earn something in the region of £50m. But not many others.
